Tesoro Blu Hotel & Spa

As in previous reviews I can only praise this wonderful hotel.
The staff are all tremendous and nothing is too much trouble for them.
Met up with old friends from previous visits and met lots of new people who will probably return and be part of the Tesoro Blu repeaters club.
Can’t wait for June next year !

We stayed here 7 nights, breakfast and dinner included.
Really nice hotel,friendly staff and clean. We had room 212,it was big enough and had a balcony. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner buffet were fine. Staff was very friendly, especially Juli,she was so nice.
The beach in front of the hotel is not great,but the hotel has a nice pool.
We rented a car and also a boat. We got to see a lot of the island.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Currently staying at the Tesoroblu. The hotel is really good. Made up of apartments with balconies. Good pool and bar areas. Waiting staff are really friendly and cannot do enough for you. Don't come here expecting the TV viewing to be anything other than BBC world news. Movies are charged for and the choice is the Hallmark/Larry Levinson romance from Movies 24. And they want to charge you for the privilege! Overall though a great stay so far.

We're just back home after 2 weeks at this very lovely hotel. Couldn't fault it! The location is really quiet, the rooms are spacious and clean, all the hotel facilities are modern and well designed and the pool area is just fab! The hotel is exclusive to TUI Sensimar, so no children! It's sold as half-board and we found the food absolutely fine. Breakfast is all the usual that you would expect (but that's not English bacon or sausages). The dinner buffet offered standard meat, chicken and fish plus many Greek favourites.

The White Bar, next to the restaurant and the pool is lovely for pre-dinner drinks. We were not impressed by the entertainment but it seemed to suit many other guests.

We didn't venture out far. We've been to the island a couple of times before and stayed in Skala (although that was many years ago). Waves Beach bar 1 minute walk along the road was great for lunch. Lovely view and usually loads of yachts to watch. Daily entertainment was provided by the local goat herd coming down the hill behind the bar and then wandering along the beach and up and down the road. We also took a taxi into Skala (ask reception and they will call a cab for you), cost 5 euros each way. There are loads of tavernas and restaurants around the square, also up the cobbled main street and along the beach road.

Excellent hotel, lovely holiday and very hot weather (29 with very little breeze most days!).

Would we go again - definitely.

We visited this lovely hotel in July for a week, my first visit to Greece ( partners first visit to Cephalonia ), wow, its lovely. It won't be everyone's cup of tea as its quite remote and very modern, really not typically Greek! We just loved it .... stunning design nestled into the hillside with a beautiful infinity pool frontage. Its only actually about 20 minutes walk into Skala so not as remote ( quiet ) as it seems as first.
We stayed half board but agreed that if the food was rubbish we'd just hop into town, absolutely no need as the food was lovely, not a massive choice but delicious every night - no complaints at all.
I'm really not a 'pool person ' but the beach is a bit crunchy for my liking - and the sea was freezing!! I became a pool person for the week and spent pretty much all my time there. Lots of beds so no need for the whole towel thing, lovely and clean and nice warm water. probably the most miserable life guard on the planet - wow-pretty but fun sponge. I watched a lovely young couple blow up a diamond ring inflatable - nope - any kind of jumping in - nope - rules !!! yup LOTS of rules ( health and safety gone quite mad ) ..... actually the only negative about this hotel.

What makes this place ( apart from pool barbie ) is the staff, they were just wonderful, from the chefs to the bar staff ( thanks Adonis and Konstantinos ), waiting staff to reception, all so friendly and just made our holiday one to remember.

This is our second visit here in as many years. And again, we stayed in the Platinum Suite. This creates very different holiday - but one that we wanted. Peaceful and tranquil. With our own pool and huuuuge "house" - it's like having your own villa, but with the services of a hotel nearby for breakfast, lunch and dinner - as well as the spa and other facilities.
The staff are only too willing to help with anything you need and are always super friendly from the cleaning staff through to the gardener and waitresses.

The food is nice and to be expected; a week is just perfect but would probably want more variety if staying longer. It is very healthy which we like.

The entertainment is a bit 'samey' (same singer most nights - Sophie) it's ok once in a while. but not each night. However, the hotel is only 5-10mins walk from the town, and also some other great restaurants (Good times restaurant nearby). A trip defo worth making is to the chocolate shop next door to the hotel! you wont regret that.

It is a family run hotel and the family are very obviously "in charge" - which can be a little bit intimidating. However, the same staff seem to work here each year - so I guess they enjoy it.

All in all, a very high standard of hotel, the hotel itself looks stunning, the suite is stunning and the service matches all this.

We will be back again for a third time for sure.

We returned having had a wonderful relaxing 2 weeks. The hotel is kept impeccably clean and well maintained in all areas. The staff work tirelessly and cannot do enough to help you. The rooms are a good size with comfortable beds and well appointed bathrooms that are cleaned daily to a high standard. We visited the spa and had a massage which really was so good. Anastasia is a qualified physio and treats her customers in the most professional manner. Breakfast was ok although a little repetitive with a limited choice compared to other sensimar hotels we have visited.The a’la carte restaurant was very nice for a change. The buffet restaurant for the evening meal was ok but could be improved with again a wider choice as the starters were exactly the same every night. The pool area was lovely, the beds comfortable and the jacuzzi pool very relaxing. The only criticism was the female lifeguard who was the only member of staff who was miserable and did not interact with the holiday makers. All the staff were so nice but I must mention the following 3 members of staff who I feel deserve a special thankyou.
1. Yuli- a wonderful waitress who is so attentive and friendly despite her working such long hours
2. Marcello- a wonderful waiter who always has a smile and a friendly chat with a good sense of humour
3. Eni- Oh my god she works tirelessly around the pool in those high temperatures and doesn’t stop from morning until night. She kept me well hydrated and is an absolute credit to the hotel.

We could not speak more highly of this lovely hotel. The start of our holiday was extremely stressful, arriving at the hotel at midnight, 8 hours later than our expected arrival time, due to our plane turning back to Gatwick. However, after eventually arriving at the hotel are holiday experience went from the worst start to a superb relaxing experience. All the staff spoke perfect English and are impeccably well-mannered and professional. The rooms are of a good size with nice balconies, please do not expect a great view of the surrounding scenery but it was fine to sit out and have a drink. The bed was huge and very comfortable, although we arrived after midnight the hotel staff delivered sandwiches to our room (even remembering that my wife was a vegetarian.) You don’t have to pay extra for air conditioning or the use of a safe in the room. The bathrooms are really modern and cleaned every day, we got excellent shower pressure and hot water at all times of the day. The air conditioning was set at 19 degrees and was a little slow to cool the room down but that's the only negative we had. we can't say it was that much of a problem. The Wifi is free, but really slow - to be fair it didn't bother me as I very rarely used it. But it may bother some people that need it in their rooms, it was a bit faster in the hotel reception area.

The food included in the half board (breakfast and dinner) was really nice. My wife is a vegetarian (as mentioned earlier) and we were really impressed with the varied selection across the week and the chef would even cook something extra if you couldn't find anything that suited. We didn't eat out at all as the food was great and the menu's suited us on all nights we were there.

The resort of Skala is lovely, about a15/20 minute walk from the hotel. There is a wide stony beach near the hotel and a nice little secluded cove if you want somewhere a bit more private, there is a big sandy beach 4km away (costing about 20 euros each way by taxi).

We did an excursion with Tui (Premier Experience) which gave a local favour of the island of Kefalonia, this was great value for money and lasted all day. including tea & cake, a boat ride with a swim, visited the underground lake at Melissani and a dinner at Fiscardo, a lovely experience.

If you want to hire a car probably best to hire through Tui rep (Craig) and give plenty of notice during the peak season, as they can get very busy.

The hotel staff were exceptional, they all work very hard and long hours and always greet and serve you with a smile. They all were second to none and the Management team should be very proud of them all.

Conclusion: for the money, this is easily the best hotel you will find. If you want somewhere low-key to relax (child free) for a week then this place can’t be beaten.

We stayed at the hotel from 26 July to 2 August. The hotel is lovely, we were greeted off the coach to a welcome drink with a smiling receptionist. We were taken to our room in a golf cart with our bags by the porter. There was a complimentary large bottle of water waiting for us in the fridge. The room was spacious, clean and very modern. The air-con, fridge and safe were all free. There was a pay as you go mini-bar in the fridge but there was enough room for your own items. There was a hairdryer which was powerful, a decent iron and ironing board. There were sufficient sun loungers beside the pool all with parasols and a small table and free use of pool towels. We booked a car for one day through Tui a seamless service in doing so. We booked 2 excursions, the 4x4 safari was incredible and the two young guys who were driving were brilliant, we saw some amazing sights of this incredible island. The other tour was the Premier excursion, a really long full day which included in the price, cake and coffee/tea, trip to messalini lake, boat trip(about 2 hours) with 30 mins on the beach/in the sea, 3 course lunch and return journey stopping off at a small village for a quick ice cream (we paid for that). The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and obliging they could not do enough for you, we charged everything to the room and paid at the end or you can pay cash upfront, its your choice. The food was plentiful and good qualityl with buffet style breakfast and evening meal. We went on the beach one day and paid 7 euros to hire sunbeds. We walked into Skala 20 mins on an evening and returned to the hotel to enjoy the nightly entertainment. I did yoga with Anna the fitness instructor one morning at 8.30 am it was relaxing and enjoyable. Craig the rep was on hand if you needed anything, we didn't. I cannot fault this hotel there was a mix of younger adults, middle-aged and older couples staying at the hotel. The staff always spoke when you saw them. Overall one of the best hotels we have holidayed in and will definitely return

We was here from the 12 July for one week. The place is beautiful and very modern we loved it. From the moment we stepped off the coach until the moment we left the service was excellent. Extremely professional. Very good selection of food. Staff lovely and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms beautiful and cleaned everyday. Good entertainment every night. Cocktails were the best. Very high standards. Made friends with all the staff and the owners and other holiday makers. Peaceful and relaxing. We will def be back soon.

This was our first visit to a Greek Island and we were blown away by the service and friendliness of all the staff. Hotel is beautiful and spotlessly clean. Rooms are very modern and of a high standard.
Food in the restaurant was of a very high standard and catered for all tastes.
Restaurant staff and bar staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
We hired a car for two days and used a company recommended by Martine our TUI rep and service was excellent. Well worth investing in car hire if you want to get out and about and see the island.
Island itself is beautiful and very traditional, all bars and restaurants very welcoming and always English food option available.
Beach at Skala is within easy walking distance and clean. Local shops opposite if you want to buy snacks.
Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations and we will certainly return.
Our TUI reps Martine and Carly always made themselves available for any questions we had and reception staff were extremely helpful.
On the last day just before leaving the hotel I suffered a fall and everyone at the reception and TUI staff were on hand to help and made sure we had a taxi to take us to the airport and assistance on arrival for our flight.
Thank you all for making our stay memorable and next to our honeymoon this has got to be the best holiday we have had.

From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble, the staff are the friendliest I have ever known. we didn't arrive till midnight as we where delayed once we had been taken to our room we came back to the restaurant to be greeted with a plate of food.
The room was lovely and spotless clean very nice for Greece. We found the found a bit disappointing although we always found something. we would walk to waves for lunch or a bit further up the hill to the fish restaurant which was really nice.

The entertainmnet in the hotel was ok but the layout could be better, there was never any problem getting a sunbed at anytime. Skala was about 20mins walk. We had a fabulous holiday and would definatly go back.

Important note there is a government daily room tax of 3 euros. This is a lovely hotel built about 9 years ago. The really comfortable rooms (room 222) are in blocks of 4 and you cannot hear your neighbors. Rooms are kept clean with a large shower room. Hotel is in a super position with a 20 minute walk into Skala, 'beach' just across the road. Best if you walk toward Skala and find sun loungers at 7 euros per day for 2. Pool, bar and restaurant are at the front therefore you cannot hear any noise from your room. Staff are excellent this includes the chef and the hotel manager who went out of their way to help.Pros:everything, rooms, excellent food, staff. Cons:could do with an games (cards etc.) area with proper height tables and lighting.

Returned to this hotel in June and had a wonderful time. The hotel is fabulous wtith lovely clean rooms and very friendly staff. Several negatives which could easily be addressed, the food is good quality but the evening buffet was lacking in variety. More choices please. The evening entertainment was ok but Sophie was not really to our taste, better some nights than others. Hollis was as entertaining as we remembered,don’t miss his Saturday night show, would be nice to see a couple more different acts brought in.
If you have trouble with mobility make sure you request a room near reception. We e- mailed the hotel before our arrival asking for a room not too far but ended up in 524right at top of hill- bit annoying after a while, though you can ask reception for a ride up hill on golf buggy at anytime which we did occasionally. The advantage of this room was we did have a view of the sea from our balcony!
Skala is a nice walk and has lots of nice bars and restaurants.would recommend The Old Village bar for lunch In the courtyard garden. Be aware the Roman Villa seems to be permanently closed.
Next door to hotel is a lovely patisserie if you fancy a cake, and Waves bar is nearby for a drink in the evening if you don’t want to walk too far. One night it was a full moon and the view of the moon shimmering on the sea from Waves was spectacular.
Best way to see lovely island of Kefalonia is to hire a car through the TUI rep, she uses a local firm who are very good and quite reasonable. A visit to Argostoli to see the turtles is a must, and Assos is a beautiful little village.
We will definitely be returning to this hotel in the future so that we can see even more of this lovely island
