The best or nothing
Amazing hotel i didn't know why just 4 stars that should be 5 plus, very clean and modern hotel, the staff is helpful and friendly, the spa and the therme pools is perfect private beach on the lake wonderful view from the rooms with view
Went for a long weekend and the hotel and its staff didn't disappoint. We only had issues with locating taxis as we didn't drive. other than that, the restaurant and spa facilities were so good! well worth the extra expense. it is a close walk to the old town and restaurants and the lake and for activities too. what made the weekend extra special was the chilled bottle of Prosecco awaiting me for a birthday surprise! loved that place. would highly recommend :-)
Great hotel in a really good position
A lovely hotel in a great location. Slightly out of the centre and easily accessible by car. (A lot of the other hotels within the old town are challenging to get to with the number of people and taxi drivers will often not want to go or charge extra).
Reception were attentive and helped us to organise days out.
The spa is clean, quiet and well designed. There are three pools including a thermal pool which was great and a beautiful little private beach onto the lake with nice views.
The breakfast was delicious, staff were attentive and it felt like a 5* hotel. We were wondering why it is not a 5*!!
The rooms were new, well designed and clean. A bottle of fizzy wine is left complimentary in the fridge which was a nice touch.
To be very picky the hotel need to consider a second coffee machine for mornings as you had to queue to get coffee (not served to the table)
Also when checking out there is an extra charge to continue using the facilities. We think the hotel should reconsider this charge as we decided to go out for the day. This would be a nice touch for customers who have paid a lot of money for the hotel. However, they were more then accommodating by letting us shower in the spa and use the facilities before we left.
We spent a week in Hotel Ocelle in May, 2019. Although the weather was not good for most of the time, we did enjoy the hotel. The location is perfect, just a stroll from the old town. Everything is new and sparkling. The breakfast, the spa & the staff made our holiday. The thermal pool is warm & relaxing. 2 saunas & a steam room plus a swimming pool overlooking the lake. The free bikes are a welcome bonus too.
The hotel was clean and modern. The spa was spectacular and we spent lots of time there. Breakfast was top notch. The hotel was just the right distance from the town. A ten minute walk to make you feel better about the upcoming or just-completed gelato binge. And the ladies at reception and the concierge desk were simply to work with. A great stay.
Really nice facilities
From the outside this place looks very simple. It’s not over the top and has everything you need. The only shame was that they don’t serve food on an evening but they did recommend a very nice restaurant a short walk away. The spa and wellness facilities far exceeded our expectations. We only stayed 2 nights and used them the 2nd evening. I wish we had made use of them sooner. The pools were very pleasant as it was nice to use the heated outdoor pool on a cold evening. Service was very good. Staff very pleasant and friendly. We felt really comfortable here and would happily stay again.
Lovely New Hotel in a wonderful location
Everything on Trip Advisor is wonderful or rubbish nowadays, so this is a balanced review of a lovely hotel with great staff and a couple of minor glitches.
Stayed for 2 nights in Ocelle with my fiancé and her parents.
The hotel is only 3 months old, but very nice. It has a very modern feel to it but in a classy and very relaxed way.
The main hotel area is great, the restaurant on the terrace serves breakfast and lunch only - no dinner. Didn’t take breakfast but lunch was fabulous in a classically simple Italian way.
Outside is a private beach with incredible views of Lago di Garda and access straight from table to pool to lake. Also, there is a great sulphur pool, warm and great for the skin!
The staff are superb, friendly and efficient.
The bedrooms are nice but a little small. All have views outwards across the lake, but if you are at the front of the hotel you are looking across the road and trees to the water - as we were - at the back you look directly into the lake - try and get these rooms.
The walk to Sirmione Centro and the castle is around 10 minutes and the hotel provides bikes gratis to use too.
A couple of gripes. The controls in the rooms (lights, air con etc) are all electric/digital. They are fine but not intuitive and not a great design.
Check-out was a small fiasco as they couldn’t work out the extras having to resort to pen and paper to try and work it all out. It was done with good grace, but is something they will need to get more slick at for a hotel at this level.
Parking is €25 Euro per day. OK, many places will charge but felt excessive, albeit they have both above and below ground secure parking.
Would we stay again - 100% yes. Does this hotel deserve to succeed - again 100% yes.
What we will remember:
- The Octopus and Potato Salad
- The sulphur pool
- The terrace
- Those views!!!
- The lovely staff
The minor glitches will be forgotten in a couple of days!
Not 5 stars but am sure they will get there.
