Lovely remote hotel

4/5 - September, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Visited here in September. We knew it was remote but as we had a hire car that didn't put us off. Be aware though an hours drive from palma our transfer took 2 hours! Cala mesquida has a lovely beach 5 minutes walk from hotel with just a couple of supermarkets. Cala rajada is 10 minutes drive or there is a local bus that stops outside hotel. This is a great area for hikers. We upgraded to a room with small garden area by the pool. Was impressed with everything in our room apart from the sink being in bedroom which we weren't very comfortable with. Though bathroom had lovely Jacuzzi bath and walk in shower area. The bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in on holiday with bedside drawers with lamps and clock. Sofa area with patio doors leaving onto the little garden area with patio, chairs table and sun lounger. Plenty of storage space with coffee maker and fridge though we are tea drinkers so asked for a kettle which was brought to our room in 10 minutes from arrival. The outside area has lovely gardens with Balinese beds and pool area with bar. Only criticism would be though they were lovely sunbed they were very close together and not enough for the size of the hotel but they did have stacked sunbeds in garden area which could be used there if none left around pool. Very quiet and relaxing being adults only with entertainment witb plenty of seating for everyone starting about 9.30 our favourite being the Motown act. We were half board and found food at both breakfast and dinner to be very good. Nice restaurant with nice soft lighting for evening meal. If you want a relaxing holiday with a lovely beach nearby I would recommend this hotel but be aware without a car there isn't a lot to do in the immediate area apart from pool, beach and hiking.

Excellent all round

5/5 - September, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

After an hour's drive from Palma airport we were welcomed by very pleasant and helpful staff. The hotel although 20 years old is very nice. We were allocated a garden suite which was large but oddly had a dual basin outside the bathroom adjacent to the lounge. The bathroom had a jacuzxi bath, separate shower and WC all very functional. We paid an extra 3 euros for a room safe, not a great hardship but an unusual charge nevertheless. Food is buffet on most evenings with one evening's meal served at the pool bar. All food was very good, plentiful and varied. The later pool bar serves meals at lunch times. We found the main lunch meals too much for us so shared one on a few days. Small water bottles available free around pool, and some drinks occasionally. Pool, with bridge over, at a very acceptable temperature and grounds nicely maintained. Entertainment provided nightly for an hour or so from 9.30pm which was not obtrusive. Although music at pool bar it was nice that this was piped to the whole pool audience. As an adults only spa hotel it was peaceful: just what we wanted and needed. Small beach accessible from back of hotel using room key for security gates. A few shops and medical centre just outside hitter and to the right. A great quiet hotel so thanks to everyone. Will likely require.

Honeymoon

was a lovely hotel, so quiet. service and food was really good evening entertainment was also brilliant (would highly recommend watching Queen) the only downside i would say is there is not much around the hotel so if you are not prepared to stay by the pool side or lay at the beach there is not much else to do.

Return visit

5/5 - August, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Had stayed at this hotel in September of last year and we enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to return once more and have just returned home after a lovely relaxing break. We again booked a privilege junior suite on an all inclusive plus basis this time with Jet2 holidays. This board arrangement for some reason was much less expensive than the all inclusive option and gives exactly the same food and drink arrangements. Transfer time from the airport was lengthy, nearly 2.1/2hours, but as we had an early morning flight this allows you to see some of the island as the hotel is the very last drop off. We are aware that the taxi fare is around 100 euros so that is an option should you wish. We were speedily booked in at reception, staff are all very pleasant with excellent English, particular mention too Lisa and others who are extremely helpful and always willing to spend that extra time to ensure that you are enjoying your time at the hotel. We had a suite in block 2 and this was just a short skip across the garden to the poolside. Suite is good, huge bed and toilet with bath and shower, only gripe would be that the drainage did not allow for water from shower to drain away very well and the floor area outside the shower basin frequently became waterlogged.
On the all inclusive plus basis we had lovely lunches at the poolside restaurant and also in the main restaurant. Food is cooked and prepared to a very high standard and we again enjoyed the paella cooking demonstration at the pool bar seating area. Cocktails at night were always very nice and waiting staff all very accommodating especially Athuras. Entertainment was pretty good especially the Queen tribute act who were excellent.
Beach is a short walk from the hotel and is quite busy so we sat at poolside most days enjoying the beautiful sun and close to the bar. No real issues with sunbeds as there are several types including loungers, Balinese style beds etc. We did see several guests placing towels early on in the morning and not returning to them till several hours later and this is a bit frustrating for others. I know that the hotel management try to discourage this and will arrange for a note left for guests on the sunbeds in an attempt to stop this happening.
As last visit here, the smokers kept my wife and I inside the main restaurant rather than sit on the outside terrace and again at night going down to the cabaret area we found ourselves looking around to see who was smoking prior to sitting down.
I again used the inside relaxation area and sauna/turkish facilities which although small are just fine and the spa offers some excellent treatments should you wish.
The area adjacent to the hotel has a handfuld of shops and just a couple of alternative eating establishments so be aware of this whilst booking your board arrangements.
Enjoyed our stay with Vanity Suites lovely and quiet with adults only and we will be sure to return once again.

Relaxing Hotel

5/5 - August, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Needed a relaxing break and this hotel was just right for us. Very quiet area. Clean and well managed Hotel. Great pool. Lovely yoga classes. Great walks locally. Beach 5 mins away. Food plentiful and varied - we appreciated plenty of choices for vegetarians.
Our room had a garden with hammock and sun beds, jacuzzi bath, shower, huge bed, DVD Player, coffe machine, kettle on request. Cleaned daily. Pool towels provided. No pool bed 'towel reserving' which was refreshing. All in all, adults only Hotel in a very quiet area. Don't book here if you are looking for nightlife!

Amazing Oasis

5/5 - August, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Love this hotel. It’s an adults only hotel so really quiet. Food is good, rooms spacious and clean, have found the staff to be helpful.

We went all inclusive. Great to sit by the pool drinking cocktails and eating ice cream all in !!

Would recommend. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Will come here again. Highly recommend.

You can see that the staff like their job

5/5 - July, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

We stay here and have our relaxing holiday ever. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Especially Athuras who is careful. thoughtful and a disceed waiter. Nevertheless all of the stuff at this hotel for adults only do a great job.
The kitchen stuff and his chief make a fresh and healthy food. The food is prepared with love and looks as well as you can imagine. Like a restaurant which has a Michelin star. The rooms are big, with a tube and a shower, which we really like. All things and places are clean even the toilet at the poolal as well. We can highly recommend this hotel for couples and people who look for rest and relaxion. Not forgetting Ramon who give yoga lessons where you can learn how to relax as well. I could write a book about the experience here but better you come, explore and enjoy yourself. Best wishes to all receptions from Christina & Andreas H.

Rest and Relaxation? Definetley....

4/5 - July, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Firstly the transfer to the hotel, its around an hour private transfer, much longer I assume via the coach.

First impressions of the place were excellent, nice and clean and quiet (ish)

Check in took quite a while, a glass of cava was provided but they should be fairly ready for you coming on that day and check in should not take 30 mins or so..

The rooms are situated in blocks, our room was a premier room on a B&B basis. the room was fine, the bed was very comfortable even for me with a dodgy back at most hotels.
The air conditioning in the room/s was however woeful, its there and its working but it is no way strong enough and it makes getting ready and sleeping very uncomfortable.

The location of the hotel is out of the way, its as simple as that. Yes you have some local shops (Spar) and an Italian which was not great nearby but other than that, your on your own and very reliant on the hotel, its food and its entertainment.

Here's the positives with that situation, the food is of an excellent standard and the entertainment is, well not bad either...strongly recommend Sting, he was excellent.

Adults only hotel so it's quiet, peaceful and relaxing for reading a good book!!

Beach is nearby but its very full and with only one bar/food place its not great..

The hotel needs to sort out its air conditioning..its not strong enough and makes you feel hot at most times!

I would recommend the all inclusive option when booking, the prices if not are a little steep and with not much around you might as well take the option of AI.

Staff were great and would recommend for a quiet peaceful relaxing holiday to recharge the batteries:)

Very relaxing and great staff

Great staff food drinks spa entertainment very relaxing feel about the whole hotel nice rooms very clean resort clean pool a very nice fish restaurant by the beach at very good prices lovely beach and clean see.

Took a taxi from airport, 110.00 euro (one way), 50min journey. Arrived early afternoon to a warm welcome and were shown to our junior suite. Room was clean, best bed we have ever slept in, plenty of space to hang clothes, mini bar, bathroom with separate walk-in shower as well as a large bath (room for two), and a balcony. Hotel lay-out with the restaurant, bar and pool area being central but never over crowded or noisy, and the gardens leading away from this area is well designed, we would start the day at poolside then move to a shady spot in the heat of the day and then enjoy the sun in the garden area in the afternoon. As the hotel is adults only it is very peaceful and slow paced, just right for a full re-charge of the batteries.
Buffet restaurant is excellent, food choice and quality is outstanding and amazing value, would recommend at least half board if not full board.
Good beach, nice location overall with woodland walks or cycling if you feel the need.
Entertainment every night in hotel bar area is generally pretty good.
Would recommend. Will return.
( Note to bar :- Brits love a refreshing glass of cool cider on a hot afternoon, please stock some.)

A Very Special Hotel

5/5 - June, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

We stayed 14 days at this hotel in a Junior privilege suite.

The room was large with comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was partially open plan with 2 sinks, large mirror and hairdryer in the bedroom area but the shower room and toilet were thankfully completely private with a solid door, I have stayed in hotels where there has just been a glass door which I find slightly disconcerting.

There were patio doors leading out to a small garden with 2 chairs, table, 2 full sized loungers, and a hammock.

The room was kept spotlessly clean by the wonderfully happy Eleni, our towels beach and bathroom were changed daily, and a large bottle of water left every day.

The restaurant was very spacious, with a very good ambiance, the food choice very varied and the service excellent. The wine was drinkable, I did find the Rose preferable to the White wine.

The bar areas were very comfortable with plenty of chairs always available, likewise the pool area, and the sun beds were the most comfortable I have ever experienced in any hotel, no aching backs.

The gardens were beautiful, the open spaces kept so neat and tidy by the gardeners, everybody loved the moving stork sculptures, everytime we walked past, they were nodding away.

The staff were amazing, so helpful and pleasant, a big thanks to all of you especially our cleaner Eleni, the bar staff, Artorus, Lara, Pedro, Sumi, in fact everybody who works there you all helped to make this a very special holiday for us.

This is indeed a very special hotel, which suited us so well, it was comfortable, quiet, with good food and drink and lovely staff.

We will return.

Happy days

What a great hotel our third visit. All the staff are brilliant so helpful and always smiling. Such a relaxing holiday with a great beach. Although a lot more naked sunbathing on beach (far end). Love to visit this resort/ hotel enjoyed every minute. Visit Arta for market on Tuesdays. Loads of great walks Cala Torta is a great beach to walk to. We look forward to coming back.

Relaxing holiday at perfect hotel

5/5 - May, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

We have returned again to this lovely hotel, our sixth visit in two years, it is a tranquil and relaxing hotel in a beautiful location. One of the best things about this hotel are the staff, they all work tirelessly and are so kind and friendly . Thank you to everyone for making our holiday so memorable and we look forward to returning again for two more visits this year, highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely short break

5/5 - May, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Took a pretty last minute break with Jet2 Hols, arriving Friday 4 May for 4 nights. Not disappointed at all with the hotel. Lovely big room, very good all inclusive food & bar, and nice pool and grounds, very well maintained. Very good, helpful staff. It's a bit of a schlep from Palma on the transfer bus (say 2 hours) but with the 0630 departure from LBIA, was still there for lunchtime. Cala Mesquida however isn't much to write home about and very German! Hotel was quiet at this time of year so it was very relaxing

Great Hotel!

5/5 - October, 2017 Tripadvisor.com

We stayed at the Vanity Suites towards the end August 2017 for 2 blissful weeks. We toughly enjoyed it and hope to return.

Check In
Very easy and a great way to start the holiday. We were met by lovely staff in a beautiful location, a very nice feeling upon arrival.

Room
Very spacious and has everything you need.
We opted for a junior suite which had a very large comfortable bed and made getting out of bed in the morning a bit difficult but we were spurred on by the thoughts of a yummy breakfast.

Pool/Bar Area
Pool was a perfect size for the hotel and with the absence of children you could relax or have fun without overcrowding.
Plenty of very comfortable sunbeds around the pool which started to fill up at about 10-11. If the pool sunbeds are taken there is plenty of space around the gardens that you can take a sunbed and relax.

Food & Drink
Fantastic food and catered for vegetarians, vegans and gluten free.
As a vegetarian I enjoyed the many options available to me which were all very tasty.
We especially loved the bar lunch menu which was a great addition to the all-inclusive.
All-inclusive drinks menu is very large and includes delicious cocktails, spirits, beer (even one gluten free beer!), cold coffee…… the list goes on.

Spa
Nice pool and chill out area.
The massages definitely had the WOW factor. Book in early as they do get quite full.

Staff
Wonderful staff ALL very helpful, such a credit to the hotel. We especially enjoyed our time with Marcel on the walking excursions and found Arturas and Lea to shine.

Entertainment
We enjoyed the evening entertainment which included great singers and flamenco dancers. There is the opportunity to get up and have a bit of a dance if you fancy it!

Other guests
This hotel attracts very friendly people from all over the world. All the guests that we met were lovely and it is easy to start conversations if you want to. Marcels walking expeditions are a great way to meet people and feel part of a group.
Also if you wish to keep yourself to yourself this would be easy.

Beach
Very beautiful beach 2-3 minute walk from the hotel down a wide and very easy path.
Clear waters surrounded by lovely scenery.

Location
Great location. As mentioned in other reviews it is a peaceful setting with no local nightlife.
Wonderful walking routes if you can drag yourself off a sunbed. If you are not confident I recommend joining Marcel walking expeditions where you are guided to the best beauty spots.
Bus stop outside hotel is very convenient where you can get the bus (on Spanish time) to Capdepera and Cala Ratijada (cost us about 2 euros each one way). Capdepera is a lovely little town and the castle is worth a visit a taxi one way for us was 10 euros.

Only downside to the hotel was smoking. Guests can smoke around the pool and outside dining/bar which is really horrible for non-smokers.

our hidden gem !

5/5 - October, 2017 Tripadvisor.com

Our 2nd time here this year so obviously we love it !.
Being a couple in our late 50s/early 60s we are well travelled. We believe this beautiful hotel is outstanding due to every member of staff ! We think the front of house reception staff are professional, knowledgeable, polite and friendly. Having asked for a room upgrade nothing was too much trouble. I always have a laugh with Ana and she always tries hard to get us a room that suits us and I can admit we do have fairly high standards regarding wanting the right hotel room that suits our requirements!
The room was spotless and always a treat to return to our lovely room and enjoy the big balcony under the pine trees and listening to the birds.
Yoga is well taught and I attended this several times. Unfortunately, the other classes had no music this time as I understand that guests had complained about sound! As a dance teacher you cant enjoy classes without music so after 1 class, i didnt return this trip. In the summer aqua fit was on and it was fun.
Our only niggle which I mentioned last time I stayed is dress code. Surely flip flops and shorts for evening dinner is hardly acceptable. Flip flops were for us a big Flop! .....Its a big NO ! .... ( sorry Guys but you dont look cool!)...
We are already planning to return again in July 2018.I want to sit back in the gardens reading my book as it was so relaxing.
We believe the location is excellent and we went to the beach several times and we arent beach people ( Apart from Cala Mesquida!) fabulous sands and turquoise sea.
Hired a car and we went to Puerto pollensa,( used to live there in my younger days), Soller, and Palma.
I know Majorca fairly well and Cala Mesquida ticks all our boxes..... We came home last night into foggy Gatwick and we are missing you all at the hotel so much! Just shaken sand from my canvas shoes and will be the last time I see sand until we see you next year.... Thank you all for making our holiday special. And Ana, about my room for next year.........haha

So nearly a 5

4/5 - September, 2017 Tripadvisor.com

Thought I would just take the time to write this review while we are still here.
Let me start with the positives, we arrive at 01.00 am we received a warm welcome and due to our late arrival we were checked in and taken to the dinning area where there was some sandwiches, fruit, water and a bottle of wine waiting for us, what a nice touch, after eating we were taken to our rooms which are of a very good size spotlessly clean and we found the bed very comfortable.
The grounds of the hotel are very clean and tidy with a good size swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers around the pool and on the grass area, we had no problem finding one as you cannot leave a towel on them and disappear for hours on end.
All the staff are very friendly, polite and helpful where ever you are throughout the small complex be it Pedro, Maria or Francesca (ents manager) they all are great.
The food is of good quality with a varied selection in the the evening, lunch time has a limited menu which did not change during our visit but there is something for everyone.
The hotel itself is very peaceful with no loud music being played all day long, also you are not pestered by the entertainments team wanting you to take part in the daily activities.
The reception staff were amazing as one of our party was taken ill and had to go to hospital (nothing to do with the hotel) they helped us fax through insurance paperwork and arrange for taxis etc nothing was too much trouble.
Guest at the hotel we all very friendly, polite and well behaved not many British people but that was not a problem.
Now to my only criticism as I said the room was really nice with a big balcony but it had no view you just looked at a tree which you could touch without leaning over so no sunshine, also I was woken up most mornings between 06.00 and 07.00 by the waste collection or delivery lorries turning up as our room was opposite this area, I normally like to sleep with the balcony door open but this was not possible as you then could hear the staff talking as well, I fully understand that these rooms have to be used but the hotel did not seem full when we arrived, the other 2 members of our party had a room in the same block but were further away from this area, we were in block 5 room 5304.
All in all we had a wonderful time at this hotel and if you are looking for peace and quite look no further, oh by the way the entertainment was very good, and the hotel offer daily guided walks with Marcel.

Great hotel

4/5 - September, 2017 Tripadvisor.com

Just back from this lovely hotel. Booked via Thomson. Downside was the transfer time of 2 hours which was no fun. Via minibus but having left our home in Sheffield at 11.30am and arriving in hotel at 9pm it was quite s king hail!

Most things have been said about this fab hotel. Don't book this though if you want anything other than a lovely quiet break and proper relaxation. There is no resort really in Cala Mesquida which made it perfect for us oldies but maybe not for younger folk. Hotel scored highly on cleanliness, food, drinks (great cocktails), staff and quality was high everywhere. The buffet offered some yummy choices. We enjoyed the low key entertainment and of course the lack of kids was great. We had 3 separate minor room related problems which were sorted by maintenance instantly. That's the sign of a well managed property! On my OHs birthday a free half bottle of fizz was a lovely touch This hotel isn't a cheap option and our holiday would have been fabulous if not for the weather - we had quite a lot of rain and cloud. Oh well, I guess that's why Majorca is so green and pretty.

Very relaxing hotel

5/5 - September, 2017 Tripadvisor.com

Visited the Vanity Suites in August and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is very quiet and peaceful so if your after a lively place this is not for you. We were looking for a relaxing holiday and this hotel gave us just that. The rooms were very comfortable, spacious and clean. We had an executive suite which overlooked the pool. It had the sun all afternoon. The food was good. A bit repetitive at times but no different to other all inclusive and there was always something we enjoyed, the roasts were very nice and the paella was delicious. They have a summer dinner night once a week which takes place on the terrace outside and the quinine at this was exceptional. Compliments to all the chefs for this. The staff were very courteous and helpful, from the reception staff to the cleaners, Nothing was too much trouble. The pool area was clean and well kept and due to the hotel policy of not reserving sun beds, which was upheld, we never had a problem getting a sunbed. The Balinese beds were a nice touch too. If anyone is looking for a relaxing holiday in a good hotel I would definitely recommend this hotel. Cannot fault it in any way. The only downside of the holiday was the long drive to and from the airport, but this is no fault of the hotel, and was a minor niggle in an otherwise great holiday. Would definitely go back to this hotel.

Complete chill time

4/5 - September, 2017 Tripadvisor.com

OMG!
This is a great place to relax and reconnect with your loved one.
All the staff(with no exceptions) were friendly, thoughtful and worked so very hard
Check in was easy, our luggage was taken to our room.
Our room was spacious, quiet and kept clean by the lovely Laura.
We were all inclusive, the food was always awesome with so much choice.
The pool area was quiet, with plenty of beds for everyone (thankfully no towels going down early to keep a bed)
This is a very quiet area, with great walks and views.
I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a complete relax and chill time

A gem

5/5 - August, 2017 Tripadvisor.com

A beautifully maintained little oasis of peace and tranquility and lovingly manicured gardens adjacent to the soothing sound of the sea and spectacular walks.

The food was fresh and varied and the staff and hospitality caring and upbeat.

The beach was lovely and sandy with clear warm welcoming waters and well supervised by the vigilant Lifeguards.

There were reasonably well stocked shops and a pharmacy and a Doctors clinic within walking distance but wasn't teaming with milling multitudes.

I came away refreshed and invigorated not only because of the external trimmings and trappings which were rather lovely but by the friendships I made and the positive vibes of a whole bunch of staff members with the kind and charismatic Manager/Director Mr. Vicente Requena at the helm. Thank you also to Marcel - the Aloe Vera Gel hit the spot, Ramone-your yoga was uplifting, Lisa of the smiley face at reception and Angie and Alessandro and Baba too, the girls in the spa with the healing touch Maria P and Malen, Francesca -the dancehall moves rock! And all the staff in the restaurants Miguel, Jordi, Arturo- from Lithuania-I've got a feeling I'm getting this name wrong - and all the ladies too and of course the bright and dynamic Chef Pablo. And not forgetting Yolanda and Amalia from Housekeeping for humouring my queries

I thought people were being too effusive in their reviews but now I KNOW WHY!
