Hotel Ola Reviews

Adults only, dogs welcome - perfect!

5/5 - August, 2019 Tripadvisor.com

My husband and I spent two nights here on a recent Croatia trip. I had mixed feelings about staying here after reading some TA reviews but all my doubts vanished as soon as we walked into the stylish reception area and met a lovely Belgian lady and her dog. While this is an adult-only place, pets are very much welcome – a place after our own hearts!!! Mara at reception could not have been lovelier and more helpful (viele liebe Gruesse aus Wien!) We got a standard room on the top floor (402) which was modern and spacious with some quirky touches. Frankly, we did not need the freestanding bath-tub and would have preferred a slightly bigger balcony instead – maybe we should have booked the superior room. However, I absolutely loved the upholstered balcony seat right on the ledge with its amazing views… I could have set there all night and gazed out over the lights of Trogir! The room could do with a little bit more decoration (some wall art maybe), as well as some more amenities like a kettle (in fairness, it did have everything else – safe, iron, fridge, hair dryer, make-up mirror, good a/c). The pool area was absolutely beautiful. We loved the infinity feel of the pool (which is lit up in different colours at night) and were pleased to find plenty of sun loungers, even in July, even after 10.30 am. Breakfast is served until 11 am (another plus point!) although the selection was not great if you are not on a health mission. Still, absolutely fine for a couple of days and you have the choice of ordering various types of eggs. The water taxi to Trogir is in walking distance (to be honest, you can even walk to Trogir but some of it is along the main road which is maybe not the most pleasant walk) as are several beach restaurants in Seget Donji.
We were particularly impressed on our last day when our flight was not until 11pm yet staff allowed us to continue using all of the hotel’s facilities. Unfortunately, it was high season so the hotel was fully booked and we couldn’t keep our room but we used various lounge areas earlier in the day (would have loved to sit by the pool but it was raining) and after returning from Trogir, were able to take advantage of the spa area’s facilities (which were lovely – showers with bathrobes and toiletries, hairdryers, plenty of space and privacy to get changed). All in all, we would love to return to the Ola some time and use it as a base for exploring more of beautiful Dalmatia and its hinterland.

A perfect place for couples retreat

Outstanding service from all of the staff, from check in to checkout.
Nice location on the lower part of the hillside, every room has a nice balcony with a perfect sea view.
We used the free service for pickup and delivery to the beach and the taxi boat with an electric golf car several times.
We booked several trips through the hotel, and loved that they arranged pickup and return to the hotel entrance.
If we should suggest something to change it might be the lunch menu - we found that if we asked for something the kitchen could always fix it - but we guess not everyone would use that opportunity. A small lunch menu with sandwiches and salads would possible help out.
All the food we had at the hotel, including breakfast, were great.
Be aware of the modern design of the rooms, there are no walls between the sleeping area and the bathroom, just frosted glass doors. No problem for us, and if you want some privacy there are restrooms available at different floors.
Spent some days at the roof terrace and swimming pool. Perfect place with nice parasols so you can have shade if needed.

Amazing view

Loved this modern hotel with superb view over Trogir. Specious room with giant windows overlooking the sea. Extra comfy bed especially after week of sailing. Friendly and helpful stuff and beautiful infinity pool on the roof.

Room with a view

4/5 - June, 2019 Tripadvisor.com

The Hotel Ola set in a perfect location for a quiet, relaxing break. The hotel overlooks the sea & all the rooms all have stunning views. There is a rooftop pool & bar with a number of loungers. Even in quiet June it was difficult to get a lounger unless you were a very ‘early bird’. A combination of too few loungers & guests who would hog a lounger from sun up to sun down the main issues. However those minor irritations aside a good hotel. Breakfast was excellent a buffet with eggs to order. We ate in the Black Pepper restaurant one evening & the food was extremely good. You can walk into Trogir from the hotel approx 35 mins but part of it is alongside the main road. Better to get the small water taxi from the front approx 5 mins walkfrom the hotel ...20kn per person one way, runs every 30 mins in the summer. Great walks from the hotel including a 10km there & back seafront walk going away from Trogir...lots of bars & cafes to rest along the way. The staff were friendly & happy to help. On our last day we had a late flight but they were really obliging & organised a late checkout for us...great service. Our room was one with a smaller balcony but more ‘bedroom’ including a wonderful freestanding bath. So if you want a relaxing hotel, Spa, friendly staff, good walks nearby & a room with a view the Ola is a great choice
