Channel View Boutique Hotel

My husband and I have just experienced an enjoyable and relaxing stay at the Channel View.

Peter and Ruth were very warm and welcoming and happy to assist with any request. After arriving early, we were able to park our car on site and go off and enjoy the day until check in time.

The room was extremely clean and pleasant, with the furniture and bedding being of high quality and the shower modern and well functioning.

We were unfortunate not to have a sea view from our room however, the views are amazing from the conservatory and the location perfect for strolls into town.

Previous ‘negative reviews’ regarding the dog (Chelsea) were totally unfounded. You couldn’t meet a more chilled and placid dog, who’s temperament is furthest from being aggressive. She absolutely compliments the hotel.

We welcomed the regard for safety and not providing front door keys - after all this is not just a business but a family home too.

Our aim for a chilled few days was achieved and we would recommend The Channel View for older couples wanting to enjoy child free breaks. A mention of close proximity to rail lines on website and Netflix in each room would be our only friendly suggestion.

Ruth and Peter made us very welcome. Our room was fresh, clean and tidy, with an amazing sea view. Food was good, plenty of choice and presented well. Their first hand knowledge of the area and places of interest, very useful. Ruth and Peter put themselves out to make our stay enjoyable. Would definitely stay there again.

Me and my wife have just had another 4 brilliant summer days at the Channel View hotel. The weather was beautiful, the hosts were amazing and would go out of their way to make sure our stay was 100% enjoyable, the food was perfect and we even made a couple of new friends during our stay. There is nothing more relaxing that having a cold beer and looking out over the bay from the massive conservatory that's 10ft from the sea. All in all another 5 star experience from Ruth and Peter. We both can't wait to get back to Paignton!

Very friendly welcoming staff; beautiful view from dining room and conservatory; near to local bus stop to reach station and near promenade/beach; modern fixtures and fittings in bedroom; delicious home cooking; convenience of booking three course evening meal.

What a delightful hotel with absolutely stunning views and perfect hosts. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Peter and Ruth who are such a lovely caring couple who made sure nothing was too much trouble. The room was stunning with an amazing view of the bay from Torquay all the way round to Brixham. It was very modern and the en-suite bathroom had the best shower I’ve ever had and cleaned every day. The attention to little details in the way they set out the drinks tray in the room with real milk which was put in cold flask to keep fresh just made that special difference. The food was excellent plenty of choice for breakfast and our evening meal. I spent most evenings sat in the conservatory as I was with with my 88 year old mum who is unable to get out and about far. This was such a lovely time spent with other guests and Peter and Ruth themselves chatting and generally enjoying the views and fortunately for us, the incredible weather and of course Chelsea the dog who was perfectly behaved and just adorable. Had a wonderful stay. Made to feel very welcome. Room was lovely having been recently refurbished. Food was excellent. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Will certainly be going back. Thank you Ruth and Peter.

Once again we were welcomed to the Channel View Hotel.
Our visit was for the full week.
Ruth and Peter are the perfect Hoteliers and it was lovely to see them and their family again. And of course Chelsea who is so cute and well behaved.
This visit we were in a different room,(5) this room was beautiful. Cleaned every day.
with bottles of water. A mini vacuum flask with milk which stays cool for 24hrs, (an excellent idea, especially in the warm weather).
Ruth's cooking is excellent and there is plenty of choice.
We had to leave the hotel very early on the Saturday. Peter saw us off which was very much appreciated.
We highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here with my daughter for 3 nights. We had B&B and all food lovely with the majority of breakfast home made.
Only problem we felt was that the breakfast window was a bit narrow could it be stretched to 08.30 - 09.30?
Hotel is a work in progress and will be even better when complete. So much work done already.
Peter & Ruth so friendly and Chelsea, the dog, is lovely and so well behaved.
Didn’t want to come home.

The minute you walk in you can tell the owners "care" about their business. Clean comfortable and inviting.
Excellent room with a sea view. Quality fittings throughout. Extremely clean.
Owners Peter and Ruth, very attentive, when required, nothing was left to chance.
Perfect glass sun lounge to enjoy the view even equipped with decent binoculars, nice and comfy sofas, plus a well stocked bar when required.
Peter and Ruth were excellent hosts, i have no reservations about thoroughly recommending this small boutique Hotel, virtually on the sea front, with safe parking. We will certainly return.

Stayed again at the “Channel View Boutique Hotel” 4 - 8 June, room 3 and had a great time, weather good, room excellent, refurbishments excellent (coming to an end) you arrive as a guest and most people leave as a friend, well done Ruth & Pete for looking after us ! Best Wishes, Maureen & Barry

The hotel has fantastic views of Torbay and beautiful beaches. Lovely quiet location with charming hosts who try to make your stay one to remember. Excellent home cooked food served in a delightful situation. Room recently upgraded to a high standard, with a view of Paignton pier and sea.
Would return anytime I get the chance.
