Odyssey Hotel

We are in the middle of a 2 week holiday here. Yes, total perfection - and is true! All management and staff are totally professional yet informally friendly and go out of they way to help ensure your visit is successful - in the way you wish it to be and are passionate about working here, also where it is based and the entire island. The property is ‘boutique’ style, blissfully peaceful and quiet, spotlessly clean and maintained throughout. It is directly on the coast, with a small ‘quiet’ dead-end road between it and the sea, with all rooms superbly fitted out, large and overlooking the sea. It is ideally located to explore the entire island, and the local town of Agia Efimia and its delightful harbour just a slow pleasant walk away - and which has a good choice of eateries together with chemist, post office, 2 car hire businesses and 2 supermarkets. In our opinion the hotels restaurant plus one other are the best in the area - possibly region (!) but the hotel without any doubt gets the top vote because it is truly elegant and has superb views. It has a large free car park, and a small spa, which offers a range of good therapies, and the 2 swimming pools have beautiful sun loungers etc., in lovely locations - far more than the number of rooms of which there is only 22. Swimming in the sea is from small ‘pebbly’ beaches / rocky coves and there are no jet-ski’s to break the peaceful environment. Breakfast really sums up this hotel ( it should only be referred to as this beautiful hotel ) - it is totally relaxed with only waitress service including a superb variety of local cuisine, including full, freshly cooked ‘English’ to order. Finally, the fact that many other guests were on their umpteenth visit should say much - and we shall without doubt be returning ourselves!!

I first visited this hotel last year and persuaded my wife to return again this year. We met old friends and made new ones in the staff. The food was again excellent. The facilities superb. The staff friendly and helpful. A credit to Gerry and Katerina. Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday, Aristo, Athena, Katherine, Maya and Natalie. You made our week special.

My husband and I stayed here for a week and we were very impressed. Without exception, all of the staff were so attentive. Rooms are all sea facing and of a very high standard, the entire hotel is immaculately clean and nothing is too much trouble.
Beautiful views, very relaxing, friendly staff - no wonder this hotel attracts so much repeat business. We have never returned to a place we have stayed at before but will definitely go back here. All respect for the general manager, Catherine who does a great job here; a true all round example of excellent hospitality!

We have never, ever gone back to a hotel for a second holiday, but we are already looking at dates for our third visit next year - which says it all. We are not alone either, we met many other 'returners' during our holiday and it feels like one big happy Odyssey community.

Since our visit last year, there have been some really good improvements and Catherine and her brother Gerry are always listening to feedback and looking at ways to make your stay the very best they can.

Amazing sea views from all the rooms, super comfy beds, good food and the friendliest staff you will ever meet. We have now worked our way through the extensive menu, so we are looking forward to sampling new things next year!

Catherine is always on hand to offer great tips on places to visit on the island and we discovered some amazing beaches this year, which are as good as some in the Caribbean we have been to. It really is a stunning island, so get out and about if you can.

The hotel is situated in Agia Efimia, which is a gorgeous little marina and village with plenty of tavernas and small shops. It is a great base to explore the island from and has a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

We can't wait to return next year and thank you so, so much to everyone at the Odyssey for making our second stay so special - it really is our happy holiday place.

This is my fifth time staying at this great hotel. In terms of location, staff, cleanliness and overall value it should be considered as more of a 5 Star property.
If you happen to visit Kefalonia I would highly recommend a sojourn at this amazing property.
Of note the owners are super friendly and always available.

Having enjoyed a holiday in Agia Efimia three years ago we already knew what a lovely place it is to spend time in, and having seen the Odyssey Hotel during our holiday, and visited their website and read reviews, we knew it would be the perfect hotel to stay in, both in it's position and the accommodation and services it provides.

We were, however, absolutely blown away by the whole Odyssey experience. Catherine, Gerasimos and all of the staff genuinely care about their guests, always with a smile and greeting in passing, and happy to engage in conversation or give advice on food, drinks, places to visit etc. Incidentally the food was delicious (an extensive range of meze, salads, main courses and desserts) and perfectly cooked and presented every time.

We arranged a taxi transfer with Catherine, which made for a very relaxed start to the holiday, and the personal farewell from Catherine and Natalie, and return transfer to the airport (both with the Odyssey's own transport and personable and careful driver) made our reluctant end to our holiday very easy. We will be back as soon as we can.

I have been meaning to write this review since our visit in June. Sorry it’s late.

What an amazing hotel. Catherine and her brother went out of their way to make our stay very special. From the moment we walked in to the day we left we could not fault one single thing. Wow, the room was beautiful and finished to a very high standard, the view from the balcony was just beautiful.

The pool area was lovely and very peaceful, the sun loungers are the comfiest loungers I have ever laid on. The service around the pool was great and all the staff are very nice and friendly and a credit to this beautiful hotel and management.

The food, breakfast, lunch and Dinner was just delicious, we couldn’t fault a single thing.

We had such an amazing time and we can’t wait to go back. Everything was perfect in every way.

Visited this hotel with my husband and we had an amazing week. A fantastic hotel with helpful, caring staff. The view from our room was bliss. Location is great in this quaint and charming village. Rooms are huge and plush. highly recommended!

his was our second stay at the Odyssey Hotel and we cannot thank the owners Catherine, Gerry and all the hotel team enough for another fantastic stay, everything was just perfect, so much so we felt like one of the family. The food as on our previous visit was just incredible. One morning from our hotel balcony we were lucky enough to see dolphins in the bay, just amazing.
This year we managed to visit parts of the beautiful island of Kefalonia that we did not have time to see last year, including going to Argostoli to see the giant turtles, who seem to follow the local fishing boats when they return to the harbour at 11.00am. In addition we went to Fiscardo, a lovely harbour where we spent a lunchtime watching the world go by.

This was our 3rd visit to the Odyssey and it just gets better on every visit. Catherine and all her staff help to make each visit memorable. All rooms have great views, the only difference is some have a Bath/Shower and others a walk in Shower. The only comment is that the new Pool Loungers may not be to everyone's taste. With great service, great selection of food, great location and great views what more could you want.
