Aqua Hotel Silhouette & Spa

All the good reviews on here as this is a very good hotel, well run with great facilities and great value, our room was kept spotlessly clean and had towels changed every day, the cleaning staff keep the entire hotel in top order.

The staff we dealt with were terrific, friendly and helpful in every sense, I want to particularly mention Yvonne and Cris on reception for their marvelous customer friendly attitude, also Monica who took the time to let us view both categories of room after we had changed our mind before arrival, not many places would do that.

A special mention to all the bar staff and one very special person in Sandra whose winning attitude, pleasant demeanour and friendliness makes me certain she has a big future in the hospitality world, she is a big asset to this hotel.

If I was to be picky I would rate the food in the restaurant as average, there was no great attempt to vary the offerings with any type of theme night for instance and the food became repetitive I felt, however that is no reflection on the staff, the cleanliness of the restaurant and and professionalism of all the waiting staff was excellent.

Stopped here for 11 nights from 10th till 21st September. The hotel is brilliant. We were B and B and there was ample choice each morning. The staff tend to seat you at a table (i guess this is just to try and quicken the process of people wondering where to sit) but they don't mind if you request a particular table. The room we were in was about standard size for a hotel room. Enough space for 2 of us to move about etc. The only small negative was that there was not much storage space so some bits stayed in our cases etc. but wasn't a massive issue. Free safe which is good. The staff were all friendly. Entertainment each evening in the bar which was good. The pool area was lovely, plenty of sunbeds, and 3 different pool areas to choose from. I thought it was a good location, just a few minutes walk to be on the beach or walking around the shops etc. If we return to Malgrat in the future we will definitely be booking here.

Staff very nice and very pleasant. Arriving we were greeted by security man and took our suitcases. Breakfast and dinner- very good selection. Staff in restaurant work very hard. Have to give it to them. Spa very relaxing. Amazing cocktails. Entertainment every night for an hour. bingo and aqua dance class also very enjoyable. Over all enjoyed our stay.

Had a really nice get away. The Receptionist are really helpful and speak a majority of languages. They helped us plan trips to near by locations and restaurants.
The spa was never too busy, and had a perfect atmosphere.
The pools outside were clean, with the outside bar being on top of every order. We didn’t have one bad meal in their outside bar.
The entertainment and sitting area outside along with cocktails really helped relax us.
Big shout out to Abel who remembered us and really looked out for us.

We stayed in this hotel for 11 nights and we were amazed. The hotel has a great location, near the beach, shops, historic centre but still in quiet place.
The hotel has three pools with plenty of sunbeds and entertainment by the pool every single day. It has its own bar where you can also get food. What I would say was that the menu could be better. But everything was fresh and good.
We had half-board which was really great. There is always plenty of food and you can choose from many options, the same for breakfast and for dinner. The stuff is friendly, helpful and really nice, not only in the dining area but in the entire hotel.
Room was perfectly clean, the cleaner came every day.

We have just arrived back so wanted to review whilst still fresh in our minds. We are glad we did a good amount of research on the hotel before booking an inclusive special offer which included flights from our local airport. On arrival at Girona airport we took advantage of the included coach transfer and REALLY wished we had taken a private transfer as the ordeal lasted around 2 hours. The only upside was that we got to see lots of drop offs at hotels which made the one in the Benidorm TV series look like a 7* prestige resort on an exclusive Caribbean island so therefore with massive relief we were dropped at Aqua Silhouette and could appreciate how fabulous it is. The whole hotel is spotless and sparklingly clean, even the cleaners were immaculately dressed like they worked in the spa area. The 3 pool areas offered an environment to suit most tastes from the lively main pool to other areas for more secluded relaxation, all pool areas were very well planted and maintained with loads of beds and no dangerous slippery patches seen at many pool sides. The bar offers good international brands and cocktails at very reasonable prices for such a smart hotel. The food offerings were edible and typical, nothing to write home about but good value. All this with no children and only at few steps from the beach and town centre. Like most reviews we share the view that the town is shabby and run down but felt safe for a look around. In terms of stuff to do we enjoyed a boat trip to to Tossa de Mar which stopped off at most intervening resorts to drop off or pick up, well worth the effort. Finally we found All staff in all areas kind, courteous and helpful. We would go to this hotel again, we had a very relaxing 5 night short break.

Just spent 14 nights here and had a very enjoyable stay , second time here, last year had a pool side view this year had a view over the back part of the area but have no complaints lets be honest how much time do u spend sitting on the balcony,have no complaints about the food and whilst pork and veal are on the menu every day there are plenty of other options to keep most people happy. I cannot praise the staff high enough. always smiling and always helpful and they should be proud of the service they provide.The pool area is excellent with 3 pools provided and enough space for plenty of guests. Will stay again )

My friend and I stayed at the Aqua Hotel for 7 nights. It's one of (if not the last, can't quite remember) stops on the shuttle from the airport, so be ready for a 2 hour coach trip!

Tony on the front desk signed us in - he was very friendly and helpful. All of the staff are in fact, they really make the hotel what it is.

Our room had a nice view of the pools, and we found it comfortable enough for our stay - the mattresses are firm. The shower was lovely and we were grateful for the courtesy toiletries. The free safe and mini fridge to store bottles of water were also a nice touch.

The breakfasts are lovely, if a little chaotic if you go at a busy time.

All in all, we had a brilliant stay at this hotel. Malgrat de Mar wasn't really what we expected it to be, but it was a pleasant week-long break. Thank you :)

A gem of a hotel which did not disappoint in any way. We stayed in a Junior Suite for 10nts on a B&B basis but availed of the offer to upgrade to HB.Buffet style meals always had a great range of dishes to suit all palettes. Food beautifully presented.
Room was well appointed and spotlessly clean.Decor was minimalistic and modern.
Desk staff, bar staff, waiters and cleaning staff were fantastic. Always greeted with cheery smiles and willingness to go that extra mile to make our stay wonderful. Particular mention to Natalia in the dining room and Abel and Xavier in the Mimosa Grill for always being so welcoming and accommodating.
If only we could teleport this hotel to all future holiday destinations, we would be in seventh heaven.

We have just returned from a 2week stay at this lovely adult only hotel,all areas of the hotel are kept spotlessly clean,and the staff were some of the friendliest,happy people I come across working in the hospitality buisiness.
Whilst we didn't pay extra for pool view rooms our rooms had a view of the mountains and got the sun in the late afternoon and into the evening,so if sitting on the balcony with an evening glass of wine is your thing these rooms are perfect,the rooms are modern and we got clean towels everyday with sheets changed on request,nice large flat screen tv also on the wall,only 2 English channels BBC world news and one playing 80s hits,would have liked couple more English channels to watch,not really a major issue for us as only had the tv on when getting ready in an evening but if some people like to spend time in their room or go to bed early might be an issue.
The pool area is amazing,the whole pool area has been very well laid out with lots of nice plants and palm trees making the whole pool area feel lovely and relaxing,3 pools and plenty of loungers to be had,we were always out and about throughout the day sightseeing and never had a problem getting a lounger even if we returned at 2pm and we required 4 together,for 10 euros pp you could hire the hotel pool towels which you could change as often as you wanted and you got your money back at the end of your holiday,no brainer really and couldn't understand why folk used their own,nice pool bar and the staff worked tirelessly throughout the day and in an evening in the main bar but were always so friendly,still smiling and jovial at midnight when we were served our daily nightcap of Irish coffees and hot la mumbas.
We took advantage of the complimentary one free entry into the hotel spa which we enjoyed.
The food in the hotel dinning room was lovely,always fresh with an amazing selection every evening,they have a great system in the dinning room of being shown to your table,with a card on the table to say the table is in use,they even do this even at breakfast time,it worked really well as it meant there was always a table available to meet the size of the group,don't know why other hotels don't this as we have stayed in hotels before where 2 people are occupying a table for 4 or larger.the maitre de was a lovely man and as we attempted to try speaking our limited Spanish with him he would give us a little Spanish lesson as he showed us to our table and we would try to relay what he had taught us at the next meal,brilliant nice little touch which we really enjoyed,great guy.
The resort of Malgrat is not the prettiest we have stayed in but there is a good cheap transport system making it easy to visit some of the surrounding sights.
All in all we had a lovely holiday in this amazing hotel,your staff are a credit to the aqua hotel group,by far the best hotel in Malgrat de mar.

Visited just before high season (early June 2018). Costa Brava is a quintessential seaside tourist resort in Spain (think bars, takeaways and souvenir shops), which is not to everyone's liking, but this hotel represents a secluded Oasis where, should you choose to, you can hideaway and just enjoy the plentiful sun.
The newly refurbished excellent pool area has 3 pools and plenty of sunbeds (although still not high season when we went). Bars are easily accessible and have a wide range of food and drinks available for reasonable prices and the animation team put on a good array of activities for those that can rouse themselves from their loungers.
The rooms are modern with good amenities (stayed in a junior suite), and whilst the views are not spectacular I did not find this an issue as I don't generally go on holiday to sit on a balcony!
The buffet was excellent with a good system for seating diners to allow you to peruse the expansive options at your leisure. The available wines are mostly Spanish, so whilst there did not seem to be a decent dry white wine available (to my taste) there are still plenty of libation options from the bar to wet anyone's whistle.
The evening entertainment was of a reasonable standard varying from local colour (flamenco) to cover bands, and the bar area (both inside and outside) was large enough to ensure you could get a table at any time of the evening.
The staff were attentive and friendly and even put up with my laughable attempts at Catalan with good grace.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to get away, sit, relax and read a book with the occasional swim and enjoy good food. The local beach is also pleasant with plenty of beach bars nearby. If you are looking for culture and history, whilst the hotel would still suit, I would suggest looking elsewhere in Spain, but I had a very enjoyable few days and returned home relaxed and refreshed.

A fantastic Modern adults only hotel. The room was modern and comfortable with a comfy bed. The pool area was one of the best I’ve been to with two infinity pools and the large main pool with semi submerged beds. The sun loungers are very good and Bali beds are available as well. My only suggestion would be to stop charging to use the Bali beds as they lie empty as most people won’t pay €15 per day to use them. It should just be first come first served. There is no need to get up early to put your towel down as no mad rush by anyone it’s that relaxed.
The pool bar was good also with hard worked staff with a special mention to Miriam with her big smile.
The hotel bar is very comfortable and modern with good entertainment if you stay in the hotel for the night. The restaurant is spotless with hard working staff who are on the go constantly and deserve a big thank you. Quality of the food is good but could do with a few new meal choices. A wee suggestion for he chef is to give a choice of paella without seafood for some of us who would prefer that. My last thanks goes to the housemaid Who cleaned our room everyday in room 610. To round it off it is a great hotel.

I absolutely loved this hotel! We stayed for 4 nights and had an amazing time. This was my first time staying at an adults only hotel and I don't think I'll be able to not do this again! The pool area was great, plenty of good sun loungers (not the ones that tip up when you sit at one end), plenty of parasols, 3 pools all with slightly different vibes and a nice pool bar area.
The room was great for what we needed it for and had a good balcony area. Bed was comfy, room & bathroom were spacious and cleanliness was great.
The food included (we booked half board) was great, the buffet had a really good selection which we were more than happy with.
The staff were all really friendly and helpful. Everyone we met was very kind, and we were very grateful that we were able to continue to use the pool and facilities all day on our day of check out as our flight wasn't until the evening.
Cannot fault anything with this hotel, we had an amazing holiday!

We stayed here for 10 nights (23rd June - 3rd July) a superb adults only hotel.
As stated previously the hotel had received a major makeover which was obvious as the hotel itself was immaculate and spotlessly clean.
First impressions were not so good, the room we had was a junior suite on the 3rd floor but it was overlooking 2 municipal car parks not really an issue to be honest.
Storage space was pretty good with a mini fridge and also a free wi-fi + safe (not always the case at other hotels that we've stayed at) the room was made up daily along with fresh towels, the room layout was a little odd with a separate WC an "open plan" bathroom and a walk in shower which wasn't particularly private. (maybe some kind of frosted glass needed?)
Plenty of channels on the TV although only 2-3 English language ones to be fair you don't go on holiday to watch TV, still it was a change watching the World Cup matches with Spanish commentary, very different to the UK!
The breakfast buffet was great, a huge variety of choice but even at the opening time (8am) it was often a little hectic!
A nice touch - you took your room card down to the restaurant and after being allocated a table you turned the card there to red (indicated that it's reserved) and when you leave you flip it over to green (indicating that it's free)
The pool area was nice (pool towels were available from reception for a refundable 10 euros deposit) 3 pools ( 1 big and 2 smaller ones) usually as we spent time there from mid-late afternoon there were always plenty of sunbeds available, pity about the usual selfish idiots "reserving" their beds.
Special mention to the pool guy who did the aqua aerobics (we didn't take part LOL!) he was fun to watch enthusiasm personified!
The bar area was quite nice although it got busy in the evening, down to the football again I suppose!
The weather was great, lovely and warm about 28-30c ,as for the resort of Malgrat pretty decent the train station was an easy 10 minute stroll from the hotel, likewise the long stretch of beach, the sand was a little coarse but the water was amazingly clear.
There was a long promenade of shops/retaurants/hotels,the best way to explore was to take the train for Malgrat to Santa Susanna (cost 2.20 euros) and walk back but what was noticeable was how run down and shabby some parts of the resort are (graffiti especially - even on the trains).
If you wanted to explore then we visited the sunday market at Tordera, The Nou Camp stadium at Barcelona, the excellent resort of Tossa De Mar along with trips to Figueres and the beautiful city of Girona (our favourite!) .

So overall, a very enjoyable holiday at a top hotel!

Stayed here for 5 nights , the hotel is ideally situated to the promenade and beach eating places and bars within walking distance , easy walk into Malgrat old town and also Santa Susanna . The hotel is one of the best I’ve stayed in very clean and lovely decor . The rooms are modern and roomy . My father in law is in a wheelchair and we booked him an accessible room and it was excellent easy for him to use independently .The hotel staff are all very friendly and welcoming , the reception staff in particular were brilliant , nothing is too much trouble .
The hotel has 3 pools outside all very nice plenty of sun beds , there is music played around the main pool area which I really liked , if that’s not your thing there are quieter areas so something for everyone .
A lively aqua aerobics is on offer too this Seems popular and good fun .
indoors pool and spa area is really nice and a well equipped gym . You can get towels for the pool everyday you just pay deposit and can redeem this at end of your stay which is really good and convenient .
the breakfast is buffet style and plenty of choice and nice food .
There is entertainment in the hotel in the evenings the shows seem to be good although we chose to go into resorts most evenings .
The bar areas are nice the only thing I found was the cocktails are not quite as good as at some of the bars but they are ok the pina colada was the best one but that’s just my opinion . All in all we had a fantastic stay and highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Malgrat De mar .
