With its stunning beaches and warm temperatures year-round, Malgrat de Mar is the perfect location for a romantic getaway. More than 4.5 km of beaches are waiting for you. If you want to explore some of the Costa Brava’s highlights, this can be a promising location for you. Malgrat de Mar is located only 60km far from Barcelona and 40km far from Girona. The town center offers sights such as the “Peixateries Velles”, the “Torre de Ca l’Arnau” or the “Escoles Noves i Cases dels Mestres”. The Parc del Castell is a recreation area with a botanic garden from which you can have a panoramic view of the town. Every Thursday, the traditional Outdoor Market Day is held. The market is divided into two parts: on one side you will find fruits, vegetables, and on the other side you will find clothing and accessories.
The resort has three beaches to choose from. Centre Beach is a blue flag beach of around 900 meters in length. It has good water quality and plenty of services around it. The promenade behind the beach offers a selection of bars and cafes for refreshments. The Astillero Beach stretches from Santa Susanna to the Sant Genís de Palafolls Riera. It’s a kilometer-long stretch of sand where you can swim in the Mediterranean Sea, walk around the shore or have a refreshment at one of the bars. It is located at the most touristic part of the city. There are a few quieter beaches nearby for a more relaxing and secluded day lying around on the sand. Malgrat de Mar is also surrounded by wilderness areas that are perfect for hiking or cycling.
