Sumus Hotel Monteplaya

My sister and I stayed here recently and could not a been happier during our visit. The hotel is quite small which is great as it isn’t over crowded. The rooms are a perfect size and have everything you could need. They are kept extremely clean with fresh towels when needed. The staff are very friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful in both the dining area and the front desk. There are two pools the larger of the two is still quite small but perfect for just relaxing. The smaller of the two is more or a jacuzzi than a pool. There are plenty of deck chairs around the pool and on the sun terrace above. Just be mindful that the sun doesn’t come onto the pool area until around 10.30am. The beach is about a 5 minute walk away under the subway. There is plenty to do on the beach with many water sports on offer. There are many little shops are restaurants near the hotel also if you like doing a bit of souvenir shopping.

Myself and my partner stayed here for 2 weeks in July and we could have not asked for a better holiday! Special thanks to the bar staff, especially Raul who could not have done more for us! And also a special thank you to Tachi in the restaurant who made us feel more than welcome.

The room was beautiful and was thoroughly cleaned everyday, the hotel was also spotless throughout with a lovely atmosphere.

We have just booked our holiday here for next July and are looking forward to seeing Oscar and the rest of the team.

Staff couldn't do enough to help I mean EVERY member of staff! It was an oasis in the middle of a very busy holiday destination.

Clean hotel and rooms.

Food very good and varied. Member of our group needed gluten free. Bread ordered for her most meals other food available such as biscuits and a member of staff on hand to direct her to gluten free dishes. If all that was not what you wanted the restaurant could make pasta for you. I loved the fish.

Always able to get a bed or chair to sit. Towels available with a 10 euro deposit.

Train to Barcelona was 10 Euros return took about 50 minutes.

Beach small stones will benefit from beach shoes. You get to the beach by walking under the railway track. Trains very quiet as they went past.

Just spent two weeks at sumus montyplaya with a bit of trepidation at first because some reviews were not the greatest well after about two days I can honestly say this was one of the best and most relaxing holidays me and my wife have ever had.first off the staff were amazing very friendly and always had a smile.Bar manager raul assisted by Antonio and luisa kept the drinks flowing,and the waiters Dani David hassan and the lovely ilham were superb.The food staff equally good with taachi on the reception would always greet you with a smile,food was mainly Mediterranean and great choices everyday,also tapas at the bar in between meal times was a favourite as we didn't always eat a main meal.Our room was a superior room 201 was perfect spacious with lovely bathroom features,double wash sink double shower heads,rooms cleaned everyday with fresh towels daily.entertainment was ok on some nights but could be improved a bit but think it's a work in progress . Outside bar plenty of soft and hard seating for you to relax at night or day.Two pools were OK one was a jacuzzi pool again another chill out zone and the bigger pool was nice.Plenty of loungers to catch the sun with a sun terrace for the sun lovers.Just outside hotel there's plenty of little shops and restaurants to try out if you want to venture.Train to Barcelona runs in front of hotel and for a ten euro return within an hour your in one of the best cities you will travel to.Beach was across the road and again quite a relaxing place.So all in all a relaxing hotel fabulous staff spotless hotel.Ps director needs to relax a bit and let the staff do what there good at .

My mum and I have just come back from a week at the monteplaya. We had a great time! It’s a nice clean hotel, lovely standard room, extremely friendly and helpful staff especially Hassan, David and dani and lady in the dinning Hall on the till.
Its by far the best hotel in Malgrat as I have stayed somewhere else before.
The only small things I would say is there isn’t enough sun lounges by pool but that didn’t bother me as I wanted to swim with the fishes anyway, and I think the plates need to be hotter as the food went cold quickly, probably not 4 star food but there is something there for everyone even gluten free and soya milk etc. I would still recommend to anyone and would definitely go back!

Booked this hotel for me and my boyfriend and had the most amazing time! The food was great with a different fish and meat option every night cooked in front of you! If you were hungry and the resteraunt wasn't open the snacks at the bar was very good too. You could get pizzas, walkers crisps ect. The bar staff ( Antonio, Raul, Ilhana, David and Dani ) and a few others made our trip exceptional! Would 100% reccomend this hotel and I would reccomend all inclusive like we was. It is across the road from the beach but the pool is that nice you probably won't want to leave! The rooms were a modern design as you can see in the photo below and we're very comfy and clean!! We will definitely be returning in the upcoming years.

This hotel grabbed our attention for being an adults only hotel, my friend and I have just returned from a weeks holiday. Firstly, the hotel is SO clean and fresh to a very high standard, the decor is modern and beautiful too. We had booked a superior room overlooking the pool and was given room 301. We arrived quite late and night and check in was pretty easy, there is no wristband system here for all inclusive but you are given a card which is swiped every time you get food or drinks. Our room was perfect, clean , plenty big enough, the only slight thing we found odd was the bathroom, as mentioned in previous reviews. Its straight off from the door to your room with a bit that has twin washbasins in it, then a partly frosted glass door for the toilet and shower bit. We found it a bit strange at first but did get used to it! We overlooked the pool and had a sea view in the distance. The building opposite is residential flats i think, not too pretty to look at but hey ho. The pool.....smaller than we thought...but perfectly nice it has some jacuzzi type seats in it. There is also a relax pool too where you can sit and chill in the bubbles. Sunbeds were a bit thin on the ground, but ive read there are more being ordered so may be fine, there are also funky chairs and tables around the pool too. Its not a huge area but very nice, and no children gives it that chilled out vibe. Onto the food...the dining area was beautiful, fairly large and pretty well run. Tachi on the till is wonderful, so friendly and a real pleasure. The food was ok, some days i found it to be a bit of a strange mix to be honest, but managed to find something every day to eat. There are plenty of salad items and fresh bread at lunch and dinner along with the usual meat and fish being cooked. Breakfasts are continental, or your full english , along with coffee, juice, teas ect.. The waiters work really hard. Drinks throughtout the day ....fabulous!!! lovely cocktails, beers, soft drinks ect. If you are by the pool are bought out to you in a plastic cup by waiter service, we loved Hassan, Antonio and David at the bar, they worked so hard and always had a smile for you. Be warned, our vodka measures were HUGE, i dont think they had measures in this hotel but that seems the norm abroad! happy days. Entertainment at the hotel was quite poor to be honest, it wasnt very lively at all, fine if you just want to sit and chill and have a drink but I felt it let this lovely hotel down somewhat.

Location,...right on the main strip ...great location next to shops bars ect. , beach is about 5/6 min walk, sunbeds 6 euros each, parasols 6 euros.
We found this hotel to have mainly couples in it although there were a few groups of friends like ourselves.

If you are looking for a bit of a chill out this hotel is great, if you want something a bit more lively maybe not so much, but its a lovely place with nice staff and we had a really good week.

My partner and I recently visited this hotel for a week and we have nothing but good things to say!
Firstly, the hotel is very clean and is maintained to a high standard. Despite being a fussy eater myself, there was always something I enjoyed in the dining hall, however, since the hotel is relatively small, there aren't loads of options like there are in some larger all inclusive places. That being said, the range of drinks and bar snacks available on all inclusive was very impressive!! There was a very pleasant atmosphere at the hotel, very relaxing with no children about and despite what other reviews said, we never heard any disturbance from nearby hotels! Also, of the entertainment we saw, it was good.
The staff are a credit to the hotel, those on the bar: Antonio, Raul, Hassan, David, Luisa, Daniel and the restaurant staff, Ilham and Tachi in particular were all so accommodating and kind! The system at the hotel is slightly different to most all inclusive holidays I've been on; upon check in we were given a card (similar to room card) which was scanned after any drinks/snacks from the bar were ordered and after lunch and dinner. Also, the staff bring drinks to you, rather than helping yourself.
The hotel is ideally situated within walking distance of the beach, and town centre (I would highly recommend journeying to Barcelona for the day by train - 10euro return!).
Would 100% stay here again!

Stayed here at the beginning of June 2018 for 13 nights, it’s our second stay in two years.
Hotel staff are excellent, Hassan and ilham where there for you all the time, table service, if I went to the bar I was sent back to my table, they said you are on holiday relax we serve you, this was all the time they are a credit to their job and hotel.
We took our friends with us and the staff got on excellent with Duncan.
The food was very good, different choices everyday of meat cooked in front of you, fish, salad, cold meats, muscles, sweets, cakes, omelets cooked in front of you, And lots more.
Drinks in the diner hall where served to your table, bottled beer, wine, bottled soft drinks.
Excellent choice of all inclusive drinks in the bar, around 20 cocktails on the all inclusive list.

Why are people moaning, the hotel was spotless.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone if you want a relaxing chilling holiday.

Stayed at the monteplayer with my 2 sisters we had a fantastic holiday staff were excellent very friendly and helpful, the only downside of this hotel was the entertainment,the 2 guys doing acoustic beatles were brilliant, karaoke was rubbish (she loved the sound of her own voice),also more sunbeds were needed around the pool.but apart from that brilliant hotel fantastic staff.

I can only start by saying how amazing the staff were. Especially Hassan, Rauel and Antonio the bar staff. We only wish we could have given them a larger tip at the end of the week. They were so friendly and helpful, they knew our regular order within a couple of days and made us feel so welcome. They always had a smile on their faces! Not only the three I have named but all of the staff who we didn't get to know so well were all fantastic.
I also need to mention that from the reviews we read we had reservations about the food ( I say we, but mainly me as I must admit I've always been very lucky and been to very nice hotels) however our expectations were exceeded. The food was lovely. There's was somthing different each night, it was all fresh and not once did it feel it had been reheated or reused from the meal before. There was plenty of fresh salad and veg and always fresh meat being cooked on the girl in front of you.
With regards to the day time if you want to spend a week sunbathing I would reccomend getting up at a reasonable time and getting a sunbed on the upper sun terrace as these are the only beds that get sun for the whole day. Saying that we were usually one of tre first up there at about 8:15 so it wasn't a massive strugle to get a good spot.
We had a fantastic holiday and I would reccomend this hotel if you are looking for a nice chilled week away for a good price.

My wife and I have just spent a fantastic miniholiday in this lovely hotel. After arrival we wanted to upgrade to an all-inclusive which was easy and affordable. We were also given superior room with no extra charge. From our room we had a seaview, and the room was wonderfully designed with a large and comfy bed, a modern bathroom, a television and a desk with a coffee/tea station. Food at the hotel was good and very well labelled; we found lots of tasty red meat free options, and non dairy milk as well.
Sumus Hotel Montelplaya is a great hotel with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We would love to come back again.

Very nice hotel and friendly staff,your best to get a room by the poolside as the location we started off with was noising next to another hotel ,but they moved us to a quieter side

good local train station and a trip to Barcelona was just over an hour on the train and €10 Euros return .

Good evening entertainment and the evening meals of a good standard with some traditional local Catalonian cuisine with plenty of choice .
