Leonardo Plaza Cypria Maris Beach Hotel Video
Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough! My boyfriend and I stayed here in September for 11 nights and had such a great holiday. We arrived late at night so had missed dinner but they put a cold plate of food in the fridge in our room to ensure we had something to eat as well a glass of Prosecco each!
All the staff were friendly and the entertainment team couldn’t do enough to get you involved (My boyfriend loved the water polo) There was a beach party one night which was amazing aswell!
The rooms were very clean and there was a good range of food every night.
The only thing I wouldn’t recommend trying is the Greek tavern you get to go to once during your day, food was awful and not worth it at all. There’s so many restaurants within walking distance if you do fancy adventuring outside the hotel aswell!
Welcoming hotel, great service
We spent a week at Leonardo Plaza Cypria Maris in April, had all inclusive, and had the best time! The service at the front desk was kind and swift: on our first night we suffered from the warm room as the central air conditioner was not activated yet, and received a fan by noon the following day. The food was good and the desserts fabulous. Wine could have been better, but we enjoyed the rosé. The people we met in Cyprus were very warm and friendly and the hotel staff was no exception. Special thanks to Dimitri serving at breakfast and dinner as well as to the nice Lithuanian young man at the lobby bar. Last but not least we thank Nektarina, who always made us feel extra welcome at dinner and who also had a great sense of humor. We’ll definitely come back!!!
Stayed here from 21-31 October and were literally the last guests to leave before the hotel was enlarged.
Cannot fault anything other than I'm not keen on showers and baths combined, much prefer a walk in shower/wet room.
If I was to credit score each item, ie, food, staff, pool, beach, restaurants then this would be the best all round hotel experience we've had in 45 years of foreign holidays.
The most impressive thing about the hotel was its staff. We had the best welcome ever from reception when we arrived and nothing was a problem for any of the staff. As mentioned by someone else the food was exceptional and was different every had for 10 days.
The hotel is now closed and reopens in May. It will be bigger and probably plusher and if they keep all their staff then it will be hard to better.
My partner and I stayed here from 17 to 24 October. We were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine and shown to our room. We had booked a twin room with side sea view but in fact were given a bungalow which was great. Very clean and spacious and even our own terrace with 2 sunloungers. All of the staff in the hotel were very helpful and friendly - the reception staff even opened a bottle of wine for me in the middle of the night without a corkscrew!! The food was very good - a great selection and the desserts were lovely. You really could not go hungry. The bar staff were great - shout out to Nicholas. Never any problem getting a sunbed and there was a really relaxed atmosphere - probably due to the fact it was adults only. Weather was absolutely beautiful. On our last day the hotel let us keep our room until our 3pm pick up time at no extra charge. I hope the addition of 2 extra floors does not affect the quality of this hotel. I would definitely stay again.
Marvellous hotel with excellent service
Just returned after 2 weeks of fantastic holidays.
This hotel is extremely charming, beautifully designed. The service and quality in all the restaurants & bars is excellent. The quality of food and drinks is fantastic with so many varieties which is beyond the expectation of hotel guests.
This hotel has a special charm and it is very clean. The staff is very friendly and efficient and serve the guests with pleasure.
Our special compliment to the General Manager of this hotel Mr. Damianou who is doing his best to provide all the luxury comfort to his guests and he is personally available every Thursday on reception to meet his guests.
We have been in many hotels but this hotel is super excellent and we will go back next year.
Perfect October break
A hotel and area that we would certainly visit again!
On arrival at around 10.30pm ish, our cases were taken and we were offered a cold glass of fizz and given every piece of information we could have possibly needed for our stay. Left us without any questions and given leaflets etc to just refresh when we were not so tired from travelling. A small snack also left for us in the room.
We came here to fully relax and because of the amount of sun loungers and spaces to choose from there was never a rush or hassle to find a spot like in other hotels.
Food is very tasty and there’s always something to choose, however lunch and tea very repetitive. We only realised on the last day that the snacks served after lunch offered pittas, toasties etc which aren’t available during lunch, would’ve been nice to have something like that during the lunch service.
Drinks with standard all inclusive are fine but not as much choice for cocktails as there are in other hotels. We personally liked the self service hot and cold drinks in the restaurant as you were never waiting for a top up and the restaurant tables were readily available as staff could focus on that.
We really enjoy walking and the walk in both directions is lovely and can be as long/short as you like. Harbour shops etc about 40 min walk. There are closer shops/bars outside the front of the hotel.
Top tips -
Wear sea shoes in the sea
Water bottles provided on arrival and then refilled in bars/restaurants instead of changed - perhaps a refill station in reception would be handy instead of waiting for bars to open
Towels €10 each deposit
Safe €3 a night
Uk plug sockets
All in all we had an amazing stay and would certainly consider returning. The hotel is extending over the winter months which could change our decision as it will make it much busier and perhaps not as relaxed/hassle free to find sun loungers/tables in the restaurant.
Friendly, spacious, beach front hotel.
The Cyprus Maris is located amongst a two mile strip of hotels that face the sea. This was our second stay in this part of Paphos but at a different hotel.
The hotel is spacious and with large gardens and a reasonable beach area.
This is a all inclusive hotel, with two large restaurants, each with out door seating, and two themed restaurants.
First the positives: the rooms are clean and well furnished, as is the hotel generally. The staff are very friendly and hard working. The food is delicious and tastefully prepared. There is entertainment every evening from the in house team, and musicians and singers. Almost all to a good standard.
We enjoy snorkelling, and the hotels beach/sea front enjoys the best water and verity of marine lift for the whole of the ‘strip’ (we have visited a number of different beach front to compare). The inlet has very safe water. There were plenty of sun beds around the pool and on the beach.
The negatives: the beach sand covers a lot of rocky outcrops and can be quite treacherous. The entertainment area ( for their very talented cabaret artists) is next to the main lifts and doesn’t have much of a ‘night club’ atmosphere due to the limited lighting. This area is used as the main lounge during the day.
What they don’t tell you in the broached: the hotel provides shower gel and shampoo. The plug points are standard English design, and the hair dryer does the job.
We would highly recommend this hotel. Special mention to Kevin the beach barman and Janet, The Tui representative. Thank you to all the staff.
Excellent Animation. A must visit hotel
An all adult hotel which is exactly what we were searching for.
Helen was very energetic and welcoming upon arrival.
The room was clean, spacious and had everything we expected plus more.
Coffee machine was a plus.
The beach is on the back of the pool area which there was always a sunbed available.
Food at all times was amazing and such variety.
The entertainment really made the evenings but also plenty of daytime activities. French boules and waterpolo was always a good laugh.
Joseph was a credit to hotel. Kept everyone entertained and a natural born presenter.
He didn’t stop there though as he was always around the hotel helping everyone and keeping us at ease.
Gylkeria was so nice too.
Highly recommend a visit for anyone who visits Paphos.
An adult only hotel.
We had been at the been at the Olympic lagoon for the last two years which we had enjoyed especialy the entertainment, however the Adult wing came up a touch expensive so we thought we would give the Leonardo a try. We were not dissapointed despite being full there was plenty of room both inside and out. The animation team were unobtrusive Haylebut dod a great job all deserve a mention Dowie Haylwe must and Joseph. The outside bar and Andreas was a pleasure to be served at. We must also mention Christos and Sophia lovely cocktails. The entertainment whilst not at Olympic lagoon standard worked very well with shows outside and lounge entertaiment. Only concern we understand that the they are adding rooms next year.
Stayed at this hotel for 10 days. When arrived room wasn’t ready so was put in the sister hotel for a night when we checked in properly the next day to get our room they upgraded us to a swim up room, gold all inclusive wristbands and late check out for free which was fantastic.
Food was very good couldn’t fault any of the meals.
All staff were very friendly which made our stay even more enjoyable.
Entertainment team were brilliant. Dowie and Hayley always around the pool made our holiday even better and wasn’t pushy to get us involved in activities.
Evening shows were very good.
All in all a very very good holiday would definitely return to this hotel next year.
Great holiday with honest review.
Myself and my husband have just got back from a week here with friends to celebrate out 40th. I have a few great points and a small negative points.
Hotel was very high end market and on entering pleasing on the eye very clean and tidy. Was greeted with wine and drinks and led to room.(10pm) Room was lovely and clean spacious with a small sea view but we did have the hotel next to us to look at. 🤣🤣 sat on balcony was lovely watchung the planes come in and take off. We then went to have a drink with friend who had already been there few days 4 cocktails later absouluty blotted.next few days also very pleasing, entertainment team altho small were lovely friendly especially dowie!!! We partook in water polo and aqua fit every day. Pool was quiet but entertained well daily.
FOOD well what can I say just amazing. Always a choice yes a few similar things as the week send on but never stool for choice, occasional a colder meal was offered but this was usually just our timings. Overall a very high standard hotel,
A must is to take a walk to the harbour about 30 mins depending on ur ability we brisk walked down. We went during day for a shop and evening for a drink which were both a lovely experience. This brings me on to the negative and I did say it wasn't much. 2 points only (cats) I'm allergic this is why this was a problem to me I spent a lot the the time snuggly as they roam freely in and out of outside resurants and there were 2 speciality ones and the main lunchtime eating. Not a problem
Too much but every one persisted in feeding them at their tables which encouraged them more. Not pleasant for me as u can understand !!!! Just don't feed them please. 2nd point is the alcohol much again our preference we struggled to find something we liked. Cocktails nice enuf but omg strong!!! Hubby found the local beer rubbish so did others after chatting during the week. We were allowed to go buy some bottled beer and pink gin which they kept in the fridge for us with our room number attached.. This was done by a few guest also. To upgrade doesn't really give u much extra just branded spirits still no option for bottled beers. If this was on the upgrade we would have done this.
Hotel staff were absouluty great. Friendly welcoming and happy to help. I received a birthday cake from breakfast staff on the morning and from the cleaning staff in my room I had another cake prosecco and some flowers, a lovely gesture.
All in all if ur not fussy about cats and can drink anything this hotel is a must. Defo worth a try!!
Met some lovely people who helped with the celebrations xx
We came to the Cypria Maris end August for two weeks. On arrival our luggage was taken and we where greeted by the very helpful staff at reception. A glass of bubbly was also received. Our room was on the 2nd floor to the front of the hotel and it was huge room 205, we had a separate living area which lead onto the balcony that went round to the bedroom. Everything we needed was in there. It was kept clean and we had fresh towels and towel art everyday. Breakfast and lunch we found to be the best meals of the day and evening meal we always found something to eat. Pool bar was good although the music blaring out was not so. Andreas at the pool bar was always polite and made the best iced coffees. Nicholas in the Adrianna lounge bar stood out the most to us. Polite, courteous and quite funny with his one liners. Drinks where reasonably good. Meghan from the entertainment team always took her time to talk, even if you didn't want to join in. Entertainment in the lobby bar could do with improving. Tuesday night was the best. Overall we enjoyed our stay and may well come back in the future.
Love this place
Love this hotel would be even better if they had rooms with walk in showers for the more in firm guests. And a bit of chilled out music later in the afternoon.
Rwcommend aqua gym with Meghan if you want rid of those bingo wings great pace and lots of participation.
Animation team have got a great balance they are their to help liven things up if you want it but are not pushy as in some other resorts I have been too.
Nickolas the waiter always very polite and pleasant.
Reception are so welcoming, helpful and friendly.
And the food, there is everything you could want except custard for the lovely warm desserts but I guess that's an English thing.
The hotel is spotless.
We celebrated a birthday why were here and returned to the room late afternoon to cards from the hotel a birthday cake a bottle of champagne a big bowl of fresh fruit and flowers and balloons ... such a lovely thoughtful touch.
The numerous terraces are great for evenings drinks with a lovely sea breeze.
Would highly recommend.
Amazing holiday in the sun
Just returned from a 2 week holiday at this hotel and will definitely be coming back.
Location was perfect, although expect to hear conflicting music from the hotels which are in close proximity but no big deal really.
Hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Couple we were travelling with had a broken shower and within 5 minutes, a maintenance man was at the door to fix it. They were also celebrating their wedding anniversary during our stay and there were flowers and balloons in their room when we arrived and on the actual day, there was flowers, fruit and champagne in their room.
Food was of a good quality and there was more than enough variety at breakfast and lunch but dinner could sometimes be a little disappointing but to be expected with fully inclusive. We resolved this by going out for dinner a couple of times.
Special mention to Megan and Dowie on the entertainment team - they are bubbly, friendly and interact extremely well with the guests. Also, Kevin in the pool bar - the best barman in the hotel. Such a wicked sense of humour and couldn’t do enough for you.
Thank you everyone, we will be back soon.
