Sentido Thalassa Coral Bay Reviews
A good winter break
This hotel is truly a relaxing friendly hotel. The staff are excellent and always available to assist on any enquiry. The food was great and we loved the buffet style of dining. Added to the relaxed feel of our stay. We hired a car for a few days and did this via reception. Not a hitch. Will return next year for sure...…...with friends!
I tried for the first time Sentido Thalassa quite recently and I have to say... I have found my home away home ! The location is exceptionnal and relaxing. Hotel and rooms have incredible wide views on Coral Bay. Staff is amazing, extremely qualified: they really make you feel unique !
Food is delicious and especially the restaurant by the sea, this is a must do, congratulations to the Chef !! Having dinner with fine mediterranean cuisine, while you are listening to the waves of the sea, with a full moon in background is truly a great experience ... and of course the Spa which was one of the reason I stayed at Sentido is really great, service offered and products used are definately the best I had the discovered in Cyprus.
I will definately go back !
We wanted a relaxing holiday and that was exactly what we got. We went all inclusive and thought it was extremely good value for money. The hotel was comfortable, spotlessly clean and the food was really wonderful. I put on 6lbs in a fortnight! The rooms were cleaned daily - also clean bedding and towels daily. All the staff were friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. We went late October/early November for two weeks and the weather was glorious - almost too hot at times. Beaches not too bad for Cyprus but we stayed around the pool most of the time. We had a west facing room with beautiful views and sunsets. Only downside was the smell from the dustbin service area wafting up from time to time. We mentioned this and were offered a choice of two other rooms, however the view was so lovely that we decided to stay where we were. Also the smell disappeared when there was a breeze. Also it wasn’t there all the time.
Another fabulous restful holiday
Back two weeks for another lovely holiday in a hotel with the most idyllic setting . We are returners to this hotel because of the setting and the staff who make your stay very special and relaxing .
I would argue that this is a five star hotel though . The setting and the service maybe but the rooms are very tired and and although spotlessly clean are in need of refurbishing . The furniture in the room is very worn and old and does not give you a five star feeling . We have stayed in other sentido signature hotels and although not as friendly and relaxing as this one, the fixtures and fittings are very superior to this hotel .
The food also need improving as the ‘hot’ food is very often only just warm . We also felt there were too many theme nights which I think are fairly new as they didn’t do them like this on our previous visits .
The lunch we were invited to for returners was excellent and wish they served more food like this . It was a mezze and the best meal we had whilst staying there .
But even though I have made some negative comments I hope the management will see them as constructive criticism as we do intend to return here again.
We did have a lovely holiday and thank all the staff for making us feel very welcome and for their excellent service .
Beautiful hotel with amazing views and friendly helpfull staff. Me and my mrs aged 32 and 27 are some of the youngest in hotel but dont feel out of place well worth a visit .. thanks dave and sammie .
We visited this fabulous hotel again and we had such a fantastic time. The staff were so attentive. The food was to a high quality. Thankyou for completely emptying the fridge this time for my husband's medication. (It did make such a difference as none of his medication was falling out this time). I would like to make a suggestion regarding the return visitor's meal. Could this take place in the evening as it would be lovely for us ladies to get dressed up in our glad rags and our men folk can do the same and not be as hot as they are in the day. Thank you for such a fab holiday and i can't wait to return next year. A special thanks to Ewen for helping me with another blond moment. (I have one every holiday and he always helps with a smile and a chuckle)
Genuine sea view from every room
Four days into a seven day stay. Hotel lovely, room lovely, staff lovely. Previous reviews talked about the best rooms overlooking the pool. Our room on is on the reverse side of the building, and, I would argue, has the more interesting views. The rooms benefit from the sound of waves not heard on the southern side although admittedly all rooms are good.
As sea rather than pool lovers, we spend the day down by the beach bar, swimming in the sea and views of the southern Coral Bay sights and in the evening watch the activities in the north of Coral Bay from our sixth floor room. This provided us with a wonderful view of a wedding in the private harbour on Friday.
Whilst this was an all adult hotel, the waters are a safe depth for children and definitely somewhere I would consider bringing children.
A lovely chilled place to enjoy some late season warmth.
Great location, Great Hotel,Great room, clean, good size, Great Staff, who cant do enough for you. The food is excellent, based on the fact its mass catering for 200+ people, at breakfast, lunch & dinner.
The all inclusive plus is defiantly worth the money, as the a la Carte restaurant is superb, and with the All inclusive plus you can each in they as many times as you please, and you will, the food. the service, are all excellent. In fact eating in the a la Carte just twice, justifies the small extra cost for the All inclusive plus. Not forgetting the mini bar and the Beach bar is also included in All inclusive plus, which would otherwise cost you
If you want a relaxing holiday and unwind, this is a great hotel, with the advantage of going out to do things, if you really want to. There is a sister hotel next door that can be used.
There is a little supermarket, and a few restaurants near by (5 - 10 minute walk).
A lot of the guests were return visitors, which just goes to show how good the hotel is.
Give it a go you will thoroughly enjoy your stay.
We stayed at this hotel from 18th sept til 29th so 11 nights. We arrived late in the evening to a very quick check in and were given room keys. Food was left in the room as restaurant was closed. This adult only hotel gave us the peace and relaxation we craved after holidaying with kids in the past. The hotel itself is tired in some places but the staff more than made up for this. So friendly! Christos in the restaurant was a lovely welcoming person as was George. Adrian in the Blue Bar was so funny and remembered your drinks. Food was good not massive choices but enough so not much waste hopefully. The only thing I will say is the hotel is classed as platinum so why are you still encouraging guests to upgrade for top notch brands and to use the mini bar? These should be included as should the beach bar food the holiday was not cheap and I bet others would agree it's the way forward. Mini bar has been as standard in most hotels we've visited. The beach bar food would have made a nice change for lunch but why should you pay extra? All in all really good relaxing holiday. We would revisit another time but consider the points being made by myself and others about the same things. But thankyou for a lovely time.
Wonderful relaxing holiday
Just returned from a 2 week stay in this fabulous hotel. Arrived late evening to find a welcome snack in the room. We were on the sun rise side but the view from either side is stunning overlooking the sea, to go to sleep and wake up to the sound of the sea was so relaxing. The food was lovely, plenty of choice and the restaurant staff were friendly, polite and welcoming nothing too much trouble, the same can be said for the bar and pool staff always a welcome and a smile even on the hottest of days and having worked long hours. The rooms were spotless, the cleaners cheerful and friendly. The hotel itself is close to the beach and buses run frequently to Paphos from early morning to late evening. The evening entertainment was very low key, would have liked a bit more but having said that didn't spoil the holiday and gave us an opportunity to chat to other people. Some areas of the hotel could do with a lick of paint and re-carpeting. A lot of the other guests were returning guests and I can understand why, the staff seemed to remember them and their particular likes (I.e one couple liked a pot of tea at breakfast, the waiter in the restaurant had remembered this). The reception staff also deserve a mention for their friendly and welcoming manner. Thank you all at Thalassa for helping to make our holiday such a wonderful, memorable experience, hope to see you again.
Beautiful hotel, adults only is a revelation!
Stunning views and lovely shady grounds. Sea amazing. Staff friendly and food fine. Adults only was a complete revelation - so calm and quiet. Would definitely come back again.
Only suggestions for improvements would be better wine needed on blue band all inclusive - we found it undrinkable- kind staff did find us an alternative though when we asked, Friday night music was way too loud and disruptive - finished at 11.30 though - and finally, so many smokers (not fault of hotel but would be great if they made people smoke in one area- perhaps wishful thinking!). Be warned that if you do not like cats you should look elsewhere.
Would recommend sunrise side.
Great food & service, very clean & welcoming..
We eventually arrived at the Thalassa at 11.50 pm on Saturday night, as we had been delayed at MCR airport sat on a Thomas Cook plane for an hour and a half prior to take off !!!, this is obviously NOT the hotels fault. This was our first ever visit to Cyprus. On arrival at reception a very nice man gave us our wrist bands and an envelope and room key, no fuss over passports etc. We managed to get a few drinks in prior to the bar closing at midnight. On arrival to the room, 626 on the Sunset side we were greeted with a plate full of food, salad and two large bread baguettes with ham & cheese, two bottles of water....great touch.
Yes, there are delivery vehicles arriving early in the morning, ear plugs are the answer.
The view from our room was exceptional, we did overlook the tennis court, but this was not an issue, the sun sets made up for this.
I would like to list the Best staff we have ever come across on holidays.
The Blue bar staff: Nadia, what a bright, switched on young lady, we predict that Nadia will be a manager of her own hotel in 5 to 10 years time, excellent customer care.
Anthi, once again, so helpful and her smile was great to see everyday ( kept an eye on my beer intake LOL ). Leonis, great young man, as with all these staff, he came around the pool every day with bottles of water, then regularly asking what drinks you would like. Young Denis, he was my wife's favorite,as she mothered him..all four of these staff worked so hard, if this could only be said about the bar manager, not sure of his name, possibly George, what an ignorant, lazy manager. He spent most of his time sat talking to local people whilst the rest were ran of their feet. I would not employ this guy, a waste of wages in my opinion.
Yes, there are a few minor issues with the hotels decor, the carpets in the corridors and the pool steps and mosaic tiles need attention, this however does NOT reflect on the quality and service this Hotel provides and was not a problem to us.
The management are aware of these and plan to re-vamp in the closed season.
The pool area was run really well by Cosmin, keeping all in order, checking the water quality on a regular basis through out the day, always chatty.
The food in the main dinning room was at times exceptional, such a wide choice of food, from breakfast to the evening meal, if you do not come back a few pounds heavier, the you have not tried everything. The breakfast were amazing, the porridge and scrambled eggs....superb.
We did get the impression the most staff in there did appear to be Nationality biased, but we still had great service.
So, Terry P , I would suggest that in future you may be better booking in to a hotel that serves Burger & Chips every day and has a Karaoke bar that suits your taste better !
We used the a la Carte restaurant once, but this was not to our taste, the food is so good in the main dining room anyway.
During the second week there, my wife suffered an allergic reaction to something and her eye brows and upper cheeks swelled, what can I say about the hotel staff, so helpful and concerned, even offering to get a taxi to take us the the Medical Clinic, every day the checked on her and even the main manager came over, it cleared up with anti-histamines in two days.
We did not use the Beach bar, but there is a lift at the rear of the A la Carte restaurant to take you up and down to this and the beach.
The beach is great and very sandy in places. There are tourist boats that arrive throughout the day, but as previously reported there is No loud constant music, the manager has contacted the local council over this. However there is slight noise from the very big speed boat used by the " Ocean Flyer " tourist boat, but they are only there for an hour.
We had just the basic all inclusive package, blue band, but in my opinion this was more than adequate, you can up grade for 14e each a day, this does get you Branded drinks, snacks anytime and a mini bar replacement, but if you have not had enough to eat and drink from 7 am til midnight, then there is something wrong !
This has to be mentioned, House Keeping staff, whatever they get payed it is NOT enough, what a tremendous job they do, every day, all day cleaning, the rooms are exceptionally cleaned, towels and bedding changed every day if you require, my hat goes off to these dedicated people, who take pride in their work, I have never seen a lady brush nearly a full sized tennis court everyday. Thanks to the supervisor, Angela..who sorted an very small repair issue in our room, done within 10 mins..
Summing up, we had the best holiday ever provided by Mr Lefteris Lazarou the manager and 99% of his staff.
IF and it is a Big if, you have an issue with anything at this hotel, go to the front desk, they will bend over backwards to sort any problems you may have.
WELL DONE THALASSA....
It is a pity that Thomas Cook did not play their part in the flight out and also the horrendous, unorganized pantomime at the airport for the flight back, that is another story.
Many Thanks again, we will return, ( on another airline we think )
I need to start this review by saying how incredible this Hotel is!!
This was mine and my Mum’s second visit (loved it so much last year, we decided to come back- and this time for 10 days instead of 7) and oh my, we were NOT disappointed!!!
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted so warmly by the friendly reception team, and was informed that sandwiches had been left in the room for us.
We stayed in room 525- yet another lovely set out room- just a few doors down from our room last year- with a stunning view over looking the pool and beach.
Rooms are super clean and kept spotless through the cleaners dedicated hard work each day - the rooms smell delightful after a cleaning session!!
Rooms are well stocked and have everything you need- fresh towels daily, fresh bed linen daily, dusted etc.
I honestly mean it when I say- it is the small things that make this place so outstanding and unique.
From the complimentary shampoo, soap, and shower gel, to the little sewing kit and shaving set- such a lovely gesture
The Thalassa staff team are INCREDIBLE!!! We love you all so much- a huuugggeee THANK YOU to you ALL for being you and for all that you done for us. From reception to the cleaners to the bar staff to the dining staff- you are all amazing and work so incredibly hard!! You deserve all the recognition in the world!!!
I would like to make particular mentions to the people who done so much for us in our 10 day stay on a daily basis and who gave us such wonderful memories to take home-
Denis and Anthi thank you for all the drinks at the bar
Leontios- thank you for remembering the specific drinks we ordered and asking us by the pool- you have a great memory!!
George- thank you for making us laugh at meal times
Adrian- thank you for being so attentive and so sweet during our evening meals
Christos- Thank You for being so lovely and attentive at meal times
Marios- thank you for your time at meals times to check we were ok and for your genuine sweet kindness
Cosmin- Thank You for your time to make sure we were ok at the pool and for your constant hard work to maintain poolside!!
To the Lovely therapist Antri-Thank you so much for our treatments!! We loved all the treatments we had- ranging from facials, to body scrubs, reflexology and the mini day spa!! So relaxing!!
The food was fantastic and each night there was a different theme- Cyprus night, American night, French Night etc - the dessert are still incredible and such the chefs are clearly dedicated and passionate.
There is nothing that these people won’t do for you or that is not provided and quite honestly I think it’s so sad to see others reviews slamming this place!!
Hotel Thalassa Team- please continue to do what you do and don’t ever change!! We love you!! See you in August 2019!!!!
Wonderful stay at Sentido Thalassa
We have just returned from a fabulous holiday at Thalassa. The hotel is set in a lovely spot overlooking Coral Bay. All rooms have a sea view, either watching the sun rise, or set. They are well furnished, air conditioned and have amazingly comfortable, large beds. If you hang a 'broom' on your door, the cleaners will clean and change bed linen daily if required.
Access from the hotel to the sea is via a set of quite steep steps which were not a problem for us. If you like a large sandy beach, this probably isn't for you but if you just like swimming in the sea, it's wonderful!
All the staff go out of their way to make guests feel welcome whether in the restaurant or relaxing by the pool. The bar and reception areas are particularly relaxing with lovely comfortable seating areas. Most evenings there is low key entertainment which varies from a pianist to electric guitar and violin. The quality and selection of food and drink is excellent.
I would highly recommend the hotel and am very likely to return in the future.
