Domes Aulus Elounda

We have just spent a week at this fabulous hotel and absolutely loved it! There is nothing to disappoint! The staff are all so friendly and nothing is too much trouble, and the food (we were all inclusive) was fantastic. We didn't feel the need to leave the hotel at all, apart from walking down to the private beach. I can thoroughly recommend this gorgeous hotel and we will definately be returning.

Lovely hotel but for the room we were allocated. Its rated as 4 star which I would probably agree with but the room (room 217) was in the older part of the hotel and was 2 star at best and in need of a complete face lift. The staff are superb Kostas and Maria in the restaurant and bar looked after us for the whole fortnight and Paschalis and Denisa gave us the most relaxing massage in the Aegeo spa (which I highly recommend ) All in all a great hotel with fantastic views and brilliant staff but unfortunately the room lets it down.

From the moment we arrived we were treated with exceptional hospitality from all members of staff. We arrived at 9:55pm and were kindly asked to leave our luggage in the care of the receptionists so that we could catch the last 5 minutes of dinner (which was delicious!). As is was dark when we arrived we had the treat of waking up in the morning to open the curtains to the most amazing view (we stayed in a sea view room with a sharing pool). The staff were fantastic suggesting different places to visit and activities we could join in with. The hotel itself offered a huge range of events from cheese making to solo guitar nights, yoga to cooking lessons (Leonardo and Mary were brilliant teachers - Tzatziki was delicious). The main bar was brilliant and was made an even more excellent experience with the friendly and hilarious bartenders (in particular Mikalos and Anastasis). The beach bar was a lovely treat and Eva always looked after us very well. The food throughout was amazing and the treat of having a meal at the Asian restaurant was very special. Dimitra was always very welcoming in the restaurant and was always very helpful explaining the dishes. Our room was always immaculate because of our lovely cleaners, who also always ensured to give us a fresh large bottle of water every day (which was a lovely little extra). Altogether we had a magical time and would love to return again one day!!

We have only just completed one week of a two week holiday but have to say this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The views from our suite are stunning, the food has been tasty and a good variety, the staff are very professional.
The atmosphere of the hotel is so welcoming and relaxing. It’s a real restorative place to come and a great base from which to explore the local area. The bus stop is just at the bottom of the drive. Bus services are cheap, reliable and regular.
The staff, especially Giannis and Monica, were extremely helpful in helping us arrange transport to Knossos and The Archaeology Museum In Heraklion. When our taxi transport arrived, our driver Manos was profession, smartly dress, on time for all pick-ups and even provided us with bottled water. It was a very comfortable one hour drive to Heraklion. I would recommend it to anyone but do as we did and split the cost with another like minded couple.

I have read some negative comments about the food in previous reviews but we have not been disappointed to date with any of our food. The staff are also lovely and we’d like to say special thanks to Dimitra, Elena and Mary, also Marina in the Hotel shop.

Normally we hate in house entertainment ( and don’t usually bother) but we’ve had such fun this time from Greek dancing & cheese making, hotel quiz night, wine tasting and a discovery walk with Deborah!

The Hotel site is steep but as others have said the buggy service is always available. We have been keeping fit with our walk to and from our room. The smell of the Jasmin at night is just so beautiful.

We will definitely be returning in the future and hopefully see some of the friends we have made this week!!!

I’m here again, this must be my 20th year coming here and it just gets better every year. Nikos and Monica are always there to welcome you, manolis in the restaurant is always welcoming. And Costas in the restaurant, you deserve a promotion, you always make sure the guests have what they need and you help the other staff whenever they need a hand. The spa staff are friendly and welcoming as always, we had pasxalie, despina, Alexandra and Jean this year who are great as usual, but you’re all good. If I’ve missed anyone out apologies but you are all fantastic and make this hotel special.

I have stayed in the Elounda Blu three years running now and it never fails to impress me. From the stunning view to the wonderful, friendly, happy staff - makes your stay one to treasure. As a single traveller the hotel makes you feel secure. The food is really good and varied. Housekeeping is excellent. The hotel and rooms are clean and well maintained. Staff are never too busy to stop and chat, making sure you’re comfortable and enjoying your stay. I intend to return again and in fact met many visitors to the hotel who had stayed there before. That in itself is an excellent recommendation
