Inturotel Cala Esmeralda

We had a perfect stay at this hotel. There’s nothing negative I can say. I’m so glad we chose an adult only hotel.It’s just beautiful. The pools are lovely, there were always loungers available, and even though we don’t go to the gym at home, we thought we’d try some of the free classes, and they were fab!

Everything around is well-kept and clean. Friendly and helpful staff (Elena, personal respect). The room is comfortable, the air conditioning works fine. The only strange thing is the bathroom, it's unusual.
Clean sandy beach and lounger can always be found.
Very tasty food, outstanding variety.
We'll come back definitely.

One of the best hotels we have stayed in. The service was excellent especially reception and the restaurant/bar staff. Desire in the bar was always smiling and professional. The hotel is very stylish with 3 lovely pools and seating areas. The food was excellent, and our room modern and a good size. We would love to return. The only negative would be the pool attendants who seemed more concerned about their phones than assisting the guests.

I've returned to this hotel 4 times now and every time it gets better and better. The hotel is very modern and clean with lots of open spaces. The rooms are perfect with everything you need in them. The food probably the best food I've ever had in a hotel and with Prosecco for breakfast every day - what could be better. The pool overlooking the beach is so peaceful and managed very well by the lifeguards with steps down into the sea. The staff are very helpful, always smiling and will do anything to help you - we're always greeted with a smile and we now have a great rapport with most of them. There are a lot of returning guests at this hotel and also a lot of the same staff we see year on year which is the sign of a great hotel. My only bug bear is the time we have to wait at the pool restaurant when it's not particularly busy just for 4 x beers and also I do believe they need more staff on around Happy Hour. I would highly recommend this hotel - we've already booked for 2019!

I went to this hotel with my daughter and we had a swim up pool room. I cannot fault the hotel the staff were fantastic a very welcome from the reception staff on arrival. The room was lovely i especially liked the separate loo and wet room. The vanity unit in the main room was good because it meant no one was hogging the bathroom. The room was spotless . We used the patio area everyday it had full sun until approx 2pm then it was in shade this suited us as we don't sunbathe all day. We were bed and breakfast and the buffet style breakfast was excellent. It was in and idyllic setting a 15 minute stroll into the town centre. We had lunch in the beach bar everyday just acrosss the road from the hotel. Beautiful views and very nice food. I'd recommend this hotel.

I was lucky enough to have a split holiday (5 days with my best friend) then 5 days with my husband, I also had two 17 year old teenagers with us. This place has it all, great food , clean rooms, great staff, fantastic pool areas, amazing beach and views, nothing is too much trouble for the staff . The resort itself is great for shopping and in the evening some great bars and restaurants (although no need to eat out the hotel food is amazing) Great all rounder of a resort for couples and family, although will not suit those looking to party into the early hours (most places close down by 1pm with just a handful of late bars) these played great music and had a lively atmosphere.

We had a lovely holiday in this great adult only hotel. The food and cleanliness of this hotel is very good. We travelled at a very busy time of the year and were impressed with how well the hotel coped. We celebrated my birthday whilst there and I was delighted to receive a bottle of bubbly in my room with the compliments of the hotel, nice touch. I only thing I think the hotel could improve on is by offering a waiter drink service at the Beach Pool. I have stayed in many hotels at this time of year and found that this service works. Otherwise a massive thanks.

We found the staff very friendly. Accommodation well kept and food to be of a high standard.
The location next to a beautiful cove with its own beach was really nice.
Only ten minute walk into the town centre.
We would have no reservations of returning.

Our 2nd visit here and we were again impressed with the high standards set by this hotel and it’s staff. The addition of the new pool and sunbathing area is great. Spotlessly clean, friendly, helpful & professional staff, good food, perfect position overlooking the cove and only 5mins walk from bustling town. Would highly recommend to people and will probably return yet again .

Very impressive professional service . Food best we have ever had at buffet style, almost every food you could ask for. The staff were superb and friendly and loved the quirky uniform with braces. Immaculately clean. Dislike no proper door on the WC in rooms and no plug for sink when they tell you to conserve water? Location perfect just 15 minutes walk to main centre. Pick a sea view room for lovely views of the bay

Just returned from 10 days in the hotel, I have to say everything was excellent. The hotel itself has been designed with a great deal of thought and panache, a huge amount of attention has been paid to every detail, the result is a very pleasant experience.
The staff are efficient, friendly and hardworking, always well turned out in the hotel ‘uniform’.
The food is varied and of exceptional quality for hotel buffet service, the restaurant area is large and very well designed (this makes you feel you are in a restaurant rather than a refectory).
The location is slightly outside the main part of Cala d’Or in a small, bay/cove, the hotel has a pool/ bar area right on the bay with steps to the water’s edge.
In another review on here special mention was given to one of the waitresses -Deserie - as being exceptionally friendly and efficient, this is true and the young lady in question deserves the mention, however, the staff at the hotel ALL possessed a high level of manners, efficiency and charm.
To sum up, a great hotel and a great holiday.

+ A hotel with high standards, very clean, friendly personnel and superb location. The buffet is fantastic, They go out of their way to please everybody with different well prepared meals. (breakfast and dinner) With three swimming pools all of the guests are accommodated.
- A small desk and additional chair in our room would have been great to place our laptop.
The glass door leading to the toilet did not close (half open) and therefore there was not much privacy. Otherwise there was nothing wrong with the room.

We stayed during Mid July and this was our third visit in 3 years. There is nothing to fault with the hotel and the staff are also first class.

All areas of the hotel are spotlessly clean.

Buffet has plenty of choice so always something that you will wish to try.

My only negative that I could say for this visit, which I have not had an issue with before, is the early morning reserving of sunbeds!! This started before 9 a.m. when the pool is due to open. I witnessed several days of our holiday where sun loungers were reserved and no-one was on them until later in the day. In previous visits the lifeguards were very on the ball with removing towels after the '40 minute rule' but this was just not happening this year.

Also for the first 5 days of our stay the daybeds that are now provided over by the cove pool were free and then on day 6 they started charging 40 euros for these to be used. The last 2 days of our holiday no-one was using these so I think Esmerelda need to think about this as not many people who have already paid to stay at this hotel are then going to pay even more just for the use of a daybed. Also if they are opening these up to be used by people who are not staying at the hotel then I do not agree with that either.

All in all a perfect hotel that I will return to.

We were in room 332 which was lovely looking out over the cove.

Spent a wonderful week relaxing by the pool and enjoying the sea at this newly refurbished 4 star hotel. The place is immaculately clean and fresh and also very tastefully designed in a Scandinavian style. Staff speak perfect English and are enormously helpful. There is a main pool with loungers and a higher level dip pool too. The fitness area is a bit of a waste of time in honesty, being a few bits of kit in full sunshine. But there’s a lady who runs classes eg aqua gym and yoga if you wish. The sea is a 2 min walk and right beside the hotel. The cove is called Cala Esmeralda and is small and very crowded in the day, but gorgeous to swim in none the less. We preferred walking round the corner to the place where you can paddle board for €10 pp - that is absolutely the best fun you can imagine incidentally - and jumping and diving from the rocks and jetties. You can also swim cove to cove. There’s a tourist boat for a longer adventure with deeper sea swimming and slides off the sides etc - fun too. Food is an impressive buffet self service for both breakfast and supper. The atmosphere is somewhat lacking in the eve - bright and slightly canteen feel - but good value. Alcohol and table water are charged as extra. They have a beach bar affiliated at the beach opposite too. You can pay by cash or charge to your room. Night entertainment is fairly dire in truth but all stops by 1030 so no issue with disturbed nights. We had the Jnr Penthouse suite with a roof terrace - that’s a floor above the room and we never really used it. Cala D’Or is bustling and loads of nice places to eat for a change or have a cocktail. Also lots of shops. We used a taxi for €140 for two - one hr transfer from a Palma. V easy. Hope that helps. Highly recommended overall - super week.

Our first trip to the Esmeralda and we will definitely be returning for sure.
Group of 8 of us stayed for a long weekend as we were attending a wedding at the Yacht Club.
In front of the hotel are two very nice restaurants attached to the hotel where you can charge your food and drinks to the hotel. They also have happy hour at 430pm where you get 2 for 1 on all drinks. The staff are polite attentive and very efficient with their service.
We had an upgrade on our room which meant we had our own sun terrace. The central pool is nice and clean and you are provided with towels from the lifeguard that you can change as needed.
It is a quiet hotel so during the day the music is on at low volume but in the evening there is entertainment on and music etc.
Breakfast is fantastic with a really nice mix and selection to choose from.
Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a nice break.

Just returned back from this fantastic hotel. We had a sea view select room on the first floor, and was perfectly adequate with a decent balcony comfortable bed, great shower and bathroom, mini bar and safe at no extra cost. The room was cleaned everyday and was spotless, air conditioning worked a treat. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food in the buffet restaurant was delicious and varied, did find that while the women dressed for dinner, the men tended to wear just shorts and t-shirt. The beach cove was busy especially at the weekend but there was room to sunbath and the sea was crystal clear. Can recommend the beach bar, friendly service and good food, especially the salads. The pools were spotless but as mentioned the sunbeds were covered with towels fairly early on, which made it difficult to use the pool area.Would definitely recommend the hotel and hope to return, we had a fantastic time!!

Recently stayed there for my 40th Birthday and excellent trip from start to finish. Staff are very helpful and friendly and couldn’t do eneough for us. The food is fantastic and good variety every night from fresk king prawns to roasted lamb. . Hotel is spotlessly clean and good size room and we were just basic room with good facilities. Agree not enough sun beds but only because people get down there early to put towels down which is slightly annoying. Already looking at coming back next year and would highly recommend.

Second year we have stayed and will not be the last. From the moment we got off the coach to the moment we left after our 10 night stay, there was nothing we could raise as a problem. Friendly professional reception staff, great choice of food, excellent chefs and restaurant staff. Carla who kept our room clean to the highest standards should also be commended. All staff we came across were always happy to help and always had a smile.
The only negative l would raise and it is one that the hotel have no control over, is the tourist tax which doubled from the previos year. It may well deter people from booking in the future. I noticed as we travelled around Mallorca that hotels were not fully booked which is unusual in July.

Just returned from the Cala Esmeralda Hotel and we have a fantastic holiday,the hotel was excellent right from walking into reception to leaving ten days later,booking in was easy the room was beautiful,pool area very good and really quiet,the food was excellent never had a bad meal with plenty of choice for everyone whatever diet you was on.
The staff could not do enough for you from the manager to the gardener absolutely terrific. It four years since with last visited the hotel and the improvements made had just made it better than and we would recommend the adults only Cala Esmeralda one of the best for the price you pay and we look forward to visiting again in the near future

The hotel is in a fab location right by the beach of Cala Esmeralda. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and come with a safe at no extra cost. They also provide a mini bar should you wish to use it. Bathrooms are well designed and always plenty of hot water and they also replenish the toiletries that are provided. The food is fantastic. Lots of choice at both breakfast and evening meal. Can get busy at times but staff are always so polite and fast at getting tables cleared and ready for you. From the top of the staffing levels i.e. Manager right down to your lovely housekeeper they were all very polite, friendly and so very courteous. The pools and all surrounding area are kept spotless with plenty of space to accomadate people. The location is great as you are only a 5 minute walk to the local shops and 15 minute walk to the centre of Cala d'or. There is also a little train you can catch outside that takes you around the town and down to the beautiful Marina where you can see some wonderful expensive boats. Again 5 minutes from the Hotel is the bus stop where you can catch a number of different busses for areas of interest. Unfortunately sometime the queuing system does not always work but this is not down to the driver but some of the passengers that unlike British people they do not adhere to queues. We would certainly recommend to others and visit again ourselves.

We stayed as a couple (mid forties) for a week in early June and thought the hotel represented good value for money.

Pleasant room with a lovely view of the beautiful beach but, like others, I thought the lack of a bathroom door was a little odd.

3 Pools, usually with enough loungers (glad to see the hotel putting into effect a policy on people 'reserving' loungers by placing towels out, etc) and fresh towels available whenever we needed one.

5-10 minute stroll into town where there are lots of bars and restaurants; the electric train/bus is worth a go, even if just to get your bearings around Cala d'Or and to see the marina.

The food (buffet) was good, plenty of choice at both breakfast and dinner and the beach bar/restaurant over the road was very nice. Staff were universally pleasant and friendly and the resort was spotlessly clean.

Don't think we'd return but we enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Stayed early June, hotel and pool areas spotlessly clean, all staff really friendly and helpful, excellent food. Close to all restaurants and bar's, beach 50 metres away. Free beach/pool towels available. Our room 107 had lovely small courtyard with access to the terrace pool area.

Lovely adults only hotel, good location to all the local beaches and in the resort of Cala d’Or.

The interior of the hotel has been refurbished to a great standard and it’s a very clean hotel. The food in the restaurant at breakfast and dinner was amazing, so much choice and always hot to eat! Never went hungry!

The rooms are a little small but enough space for everything. The bathroom is very exposed and no door to the shower so no privacy when in the shower!

The pools are great, although I do reckon they could provide a few more sun beds around the two smaller pools!

Overall had a lovely holiday at the Inturotel Cala Esmeralda! And a lovely holiday in Mallorca, definitely worth hiring a car and travelling around this beautiful island!

Excellent hotel, staff courteous and helpful, we stayed half board and the food was very tasty with plenty of variety each day. Swimming pool very clean with lots of sun beds. We had a very enjoyable holiday!

This is a modern, friendly hotel in a beautiful bay. The down side is that the rooms that get the sun don't get the view of the bay/sea & visa versa. If you're in a suite (which are lovely) you loose the sun by midday.

The standard rooms are clean and modern. We're not a big fan of the current trend at the moment for new hotels to have very open bathrooms and/or glass doors, especially ones that are opposite the door to the corridor which can be embarrassing......

The staff are great, especially in the restaurant. My husband was taken ill half way through our holiday and they were all very helpful and sympathetic.

The food here is the best we've had in a half board 4*+. Great selection, freshly cooked and tasty.

Definitely recommend this adult only hotel and would go back.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for a week at the end of May, into early June. We have stayed in Cala D’Or a number of times previously, and this is certainly the best hotel we have stayed at in Cala D’Or.

From check-in to departure, the staff were excellent, and made our stay very enjoyable. Our flight in was delayed by six hours, meaning that instead of arriving at about 21.00, in time for a late supper, we arrived at 03.00 the following morning. Despite this, we were greeted by a cheerful and helpful gentleman on reception, who checked us in in double quick time, showed us to our room, and then showed us to the dinning room, where some food was waiting for those who were late arriving. It was only bread, cheese and some cold meats, with coffee and hot chocolate for afterwards, but I can assure you after such a delay it was very welcome indeed.

The rooms are lovely, furnished with a modern twist. Our room, overlooking the sea, on the second floor, provided lovely views over the bay which were most pleasant to look at in the early evening. It is clear that the 2017 revamp of this hotel has been done very tastefully.

The reception area, bar and pools are modern and clean. The whole hotel is utterly spotless.

Dinner on the half-board package is served in the buffet restaurant each evening. Having stayed at similar hotels on half-board packages many times before, buffet meals can get very repetitive, however this wasn’t the case for us here (albeit we stayed for a week). The variety was excellent, and the food was always of a very good quality.

The staff at every area of the hotel are excellent, from bar staff to housekeeping. Our room was cleaned spotlessly everyday.

There is a beach bar available for lunch by the pool, should you not wish to leave the resort, which is not included in the half-board package, but is not expensive. The menu is a little limited, and some of the food is a bit basic, but the views across Cala Esmeralda more than make up for it.

We will certainly be staying again.
