Another great stay at the hotel

5/5 - September, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

We go the the Hamilton twice A year and never been disappointed. Great location with nice bars and restaurants only five minutes away. Staff always welcoming and great breakfasts.Hotel catered for my disability and nothing was a problem.

Very good stay

Very good stay in Hamilton Hotel. Good place, good hotel, nice staff.High quality in breakfast with large variety and a cook in the centre of the room preparin eggsNice experience.Very nice overview to the bay

Enjoyable stay

5/5 - September, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

The setting is lovely. The sea view rooms are a must, they are far nicer than the rooms that overlook the pools. The staff are all very nice, friendly and helpful always. Roof & bar area are really nice to sunbath during the day or enjoy an evening.

Great Holiday destination

4/5 - September, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

This hotel is a great place to base yourself for a holiday to Menorca. The hotel is quite modern in facilities and outlook although it caters for a clientele in the older age bracket. The staff were extremely friendly and polite .Rooms were stylish although the balconies were on the small side. Breakfast was excellent and very civilised (open till11) so late nights were not a problem. The hotel public areas were plentiful with various activities going on all the time. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Generally speaking the hotel was good value with a very informal friendly atmosphere.

Holiday

5/5 - September, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

We had a really nice room on the 4th floor facing the pool. We had the sun on our balcony most of the day and in the evening before our evening meal. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The 3rd floor would probably be a better choice if you like a lie in on holiday as we could hear the sun beds and chairs on the rooftop terrace being moved about quite early in the morning.

Short solo trip

5/5 - September, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

I stayed at Barcelo Hamilton for 4 nights as a solo traveller as a last minute booking. The location is super and hotel was lovely. I had a super room with side sea view that got sun late pm/eve. You could watch cruise liners sail past. I particularly liked the sun deck on roof top it had a lovely vibe to it and nice breeze during day keeping you cool. Always plenty sun beds.

Perfect place for some R&R

5/5 - September, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

We knew of this hotel from some years ago and were sad to read some of the bad reviews about it on Trip Advisor, however I think they say more about the authors than the hotel. Never before have I seen people speaking to and behaving so rudely to hotel staff, I was embarrassed.
This hotel is in a wonderful position, pay for a sea view room overlooking Cala Llonga (Menorca's equivalent to Sandbanks) and enjoy watching the yachts, cruisers and local boats go by. The Sky bar is fantastic, dip into a plunge pool to cool down and enjoy a fabulous cocktail while enjoying the views, at night enjoy some music whilst watching the lights around. The room is well appointed, very clean and tea/coffee & water replenished FOC daily. Order anything you need on the myBarcelo app on your phone and it will be with you within 30 minutes (iron and ironing board FOC in 10 minutes!) Nicholas in reception will help you with anything you might like to do, he can tell you where to go and how best to get there, he was amazing. Everyone in the hotel wanted to make your stay special and were always attentive, helpful and kind and, as I said before, if you are nice to people they will treat you with the same respect and kindness, we are all human. Visit Mahon, very interesting, eat at The Minerva restaurant in the harbour, fabulous food and great staff. You can taxi there for 7 euros or catch a bus. Food in the hotel: breakfast was super, everything anyone could ask for was there, you could even make up your own smoothies. Lunch if you're in for the day can be ordered from the Sky Bar or the central pool and is great and speedy service. Dinner is catering for many countries and is therefore a mixture, but if you cannot honestly find something you like from the choice (meats/fish can be freshly cooked for you) then you clearly have food issues. No it's not fine dining, but you need to go out to a fine dining restaurant if that is what you want, but as far as hotel food goes it is very good. Lots of restaurants around the corner in Cala Fonts if you'd like a change of scene, I would say their offer is local fare, lots of fish, lamb dishes and pizza's. All in all a great hotel in a fabulous position, we will be back, it's a quick hop over (2 1/2 hour flight from UK) as there is nowhere better on menorca if you are a couple wanting to relax and unwind. Thank you to all at Barcelo Hamilton for helping two very weary, hard working people to slow down and recharge our batteries!

Great Location

4/5 - September, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

We stayed for one week in this adult only hotel, the room overlooked the small pool and bathing area not the best area of the hotel. The room was on the small size but very clean, TV, shower room and comfortable bed all to a very good standard for a weeks holiday. The Sky Bar on the fifth floor of the hotel wear you sit in one of the six Jacuzzis in the sun and watch the boats come in and out of the harbour. The staff always very helpful and polite, food and drink to a good standard and good quality at all times. A very nice small marina 4mins walk away with restaurants and bars with a few shops. A taxis to Mahon is 9euros with lots of shops and restaurants, either in the town or down by the marina. This location is perfect for couples and site seeing, best to hire a car for a few days. We would return to the same hotel and location again. Thanks for a great weeks holiday in your hotel.

Lovely hotel

4/5 - September, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Excellent stay, beds and rooms very comfortable, maid service excellent. Breakfast excellent dinner variable on the two nights we used the buffet. Dining room staff cold and aloof except for Margarita. With cost of hotel would have expected bath robes. Will return next year.

Excellent weekend away with friends!

We stayed here to celebrate our friend’s 50th birthday, and it was perfect in every way!Great location with very friendly staff. Easy to get 5 sun loungers together on the rooftop Sky Bar which has the most amazing views...and cocktails!Very friendly staff and stylish bedrooms.Would highly recommend!

My first solo holiday in Menorca !

5/5 - September, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Beautiful, immaculate hotel. Perfect, professional, efficient, friendly staff who catered for every need. Read trip advisor comments before booking, it gives you a good idea of what your stay will be like. As I like to go to different beaches and go to different places in the evenings sometimes, I have a car from the airport. Parking in front of the hotel can be hit and miss, as expected but there was only one day I couldn’t get a space on the road, so I used the hotel car park. £13 a day but well worth it, as back up. The Blue Sky Cocktail Bar is amazing, fantastic views and I wish I had joined in the yoga class on my last day!!!! Next time!!!! Felt so comfortable, safe and relaxed; any girls out there who want a little ‘time out’ I would highly recommend it. I think this is the start of many mini breaks in this peaceful, beautiful location. Thank you !!!!!!

Perfect for relaxing short break

5/5 - September, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

We stayed here for 4 nights, two friends with daughters in their twenties. This hotel
Ticked all our boxes: adults only, very chilled and calm; spotlessly clean everywhere; sunbeds always available, with stunning views from the rooftop terrace. We felt very decadent sitting in a jacuzzi drinking our cocktails. It was also great to have the pool to myself each time I went for a swim.
We chose the all inclusive and enjoyed all the food, especially the relaxing a la carter lunches, sitting in the shade whilst watching the huge variety of craft sail by.
The staff were all friendly and helpful, particularly Margarita, Nicolas and Javi .
We also enjoyed the Spanish dancer who performed one evening- mesmerising dancing .
The beds were very comfortable and we had a beautiful view from our balcony.
All in all, we had a fantastic holiday here and felt very reluctant to leave.

Blissful retreat

5/5 - August, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Just leaving today after spending a totally relaxing week here. The hotel is in a fantastic location, we had sea vie rooms and watched huge liners and ships and boats of all sizes sail so close to the hotel you could almost touch them. The room we had was great for us as we don't spend much time in the room. It was spotlessley clean with fantastic sea views. The balcony was small with table and two chairs and a pull out drying frame, great for sitting with a cool drink and chilling out. We had bead Nd breakfast, the food, whilst not a vast choice was warm, plentiful and well presented. The dining room had a lovely outside terrace. The staff were very helpful, professional and courteous, making check in and out a fuss free experience. The ground floor pool area, whilst quite small is well kept and plenty of sun loungers both in and out of shade. The rooftop bar/sunbathing area is the icing on the cake with spectacular views over the bay and several small splash tubs and plenty sun loungers. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Hamilton and can't think of anything negative to say about the hotel or it's great staff. Looking forward to a return trip soon. Thanks Barcelo for a great week.

Beautiful hotel in a stunning location

5/5 - August, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

We stayed here on a ‘girls holiday’ in August 2018.
The hotel is beautiful. It is modern, stylish with a calm, chilled ambience.
It is spotlessly clean.
We loved the location- 10 mins by bus/taxi out of Mahon centre and a few hundred yards walk to pretty Cala Font with its array of little shops and restaurants built into the caves. Es Castell is historically interesting, the plaza was previously the English army’s parade ground!
The staff at the hotel are lovely - the service is ‘understated’ in that they are present but not over attentive, which I prefer.
The food, especially the breakfasts, is excellent. I love to juice and was thrilled to find a DIY juicing area- with lots of freshly prepared fruit and veg and even spirulina!!
There was plenty of choice in the evening menu too.
I do think, like many hotels in Spain, improvements could be made in what’s on offer for vegetarians ( and vegans). Whilst breakfast was great, it would be nice to have a vegetarian main course on offer which wasn’t pasta or pizza. All the actual vegetable and salad dishes were good- but an actual main course would be better.
The hotel has a fabulous roof top area which has seven jacuzzis. Sitting in one, cava in hand, watching the sun set whilst a dj played chill out tunes was a highlight.
The UWellness Centre is very good. The fitness area is free but you pay extra for the spa circuit unfortunately. We had fab treatments which were expensive but very well done.
We left feeling relaxed and recharged.

Fabulous location

4/5 - July, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Barcelo Hamilton is in an excellent location and well worth a visit. Do not book half board as food in the evening is not good. Breakfast choice is excellent however. The views from the sea facing rooms are fabulous. The are some very good restaurants a short walk away in Es Castell.

Third stay at the Barcelo Hamilton

5/5 - July, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

This was our third time at the hotel and as a reward for doing so we were offered a sea view room. As always we have had a great relaxing 10 day stay and i would like to take the opportunity to thank Nito and all the staff at the hotel for making this a very pleasant holiday for us. A big thankyou also to Nuri who always makes us feel special.

Barcelo Hamiltiom July 2018

5/5 - July, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Very good hotel location with stunning views quite close to the harbour at Cala Fonts with its many restaurants and shops. Also Menorcan capitol Mahon is well worth a visit. A hire car is advisable to see more of the island easy driving not a lot of traffic.

Lovely Hotel, great location

5/5 - July, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

We have just returned from a relaxing one week stay.
The check in was smooth, we were early but the room was ready which was great, they did offer a room to change in whilst we waited if needed.
We had a pool facing room, but if we return, a port view is a must as the views are amazing. The pool view was nice, but we were on the first floor in the middle (137) which unfortunately faced directly to the raised sunbed level opposite, so we had to keep the curtain drawn most of the time. But someone has to stay there ..
I loved the room lay out, but I can imagine if you aren’t a close couple, if staying with a friend, it may be a little intrusive, as there’s only a sliding door on the toilet (although it’s separate to the shower, which is also great), so it leaves nothing to the imagination.
It was €20 each for pool towels, but you had to pay if you wanted them laundered, we didn’t bother. The safety deposit box was €30 for the week but then an additional €5 per day, which we thought was over the top, as we already had holiday insurance, so hiring the box was enough.
There is one bottle of water supplied daily in room, but it’s €2.20 for a small bottle at pool bar, which is way over the top. We drink litres of water in the heat, so we eould have spent €30+ a day! So we bought additional from from the shop each day. The hotel info says no outside food or drink is allowed in the rooms, which is poor as you should be able to do what you want in the room you have paid for.
The breakfasts are fab, fresh, lots of choice, lots of seating inside and out, clean and great staff, and as it’s 8-11, there’s no rush and it includes cava!
We didn’t eat in the hotel on an evening, but we did try the pool snack bar for lunch a few times which was fine, the staff are all attentive and there’s lots of them.
We ate in the harbour each night, there’s lots of choice, although a little pricey. The lamb shoulder at Dinkums was amazing and the owner very entertaining!
We took a water taxi to Mahon which was lovely, €15 return each, but the driver gave us a bit of a tour and talked us through some local history. We preferred es Castell to Mahon as it’s smaller and friendlier.
The roof terrace is very plush, you have to hire the nice big double beds, but the ones either side of the jacuzzis were free. It was lovely laying in a cool jacuzzi in the 32 degree heat watching the cruise ships and yachts sail by.
Overall, a great stay and we would definitely return

Fantastic week

5/5 - July, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Arrived to a welcome drink , bubbles or juice nice touch . Hotel and deco is beautiful with an amazing view out over the water . We had a pool view room which was very comfortable , bright with a modern touch . The breakfast omg what a choice and I know because I tried lots . Everyone that works there seems to work hard ( especially those cleaning ) always a hola when you pass them . I would defiantly return and the location just a walk away from the little port with restaurants to enjoy the views and eat& drink .
The pool is small but nice for a dip .
The sky bar wow I don’t like heights but had to go and I’m so glad I did the jacuzzi’s are great to sit in to chill from the hot sun . The cocktails were so tasty we had a few . The view amazing . Lovely extra to a great hotel .
Gripes
I can honestly say there is a couple little but should be noted . The safe to pay a returnable deposit of €30 was fine but to be also charged a daily rate mmmm bit out dated .
Nice touch to have tea, coffee and a bottle of water when we arrived , but would have been nice to have been renewed daily even on a b&b bases .
Over all great hotel great location keep up the good work ❤️

Multiple visits to the Hamilton.

5/5 - July, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

We have just returned from the Hamilton, Chilled and Relaxed!!!.From check in to check out, this hotel was a joy to stay at. Our 2 week stay went all to quickly. In the 2 weeks we were made to feel like special people. Good food, fantastic room, and sadness at leaving. The boys and girls at the hotel work fanatsticaly hard, and the one small criticism, not enough staff at 'peak times'. The position of the hotel, the closeness to Cala Fons and Cala Corp, the access by bus to Mahon, and the stunning views, make this a ideal place to stay.

Return customers to Hamilton

5/5 - July, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

We have been returning here for 20 years and love the view , food and excellent service. Although ultra modern the beds are comfortable and rooms are very clean. Sea views are wonderful.and there is always a welcome and we know so many people in the area. the local bars and restaurants are varied and welcoming.

Beautiful Views and a relaxing stay.

4/5 - July, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

My daughter and I booked a week here at the end of June to celebrate my birthday and her graduating from University. The hotel is beautifully situated overlooking Mahon harbour and the reception, restaurant and many of the rooms have stunning views across the harbour. We had a room with a sea view and a small balcony where we could sit and watch the boats go by. What we loved about this hotel was the adult only policy which meant the hotel was always quiet and relaxing. No fighting for sun beds or having to get up at a silly time to grab one. There were always plenty available and lots in the shade. The two pools were both small but warm enough to swim and rarely busy. There is a great poolside bar serving really great food, however the service was often slow and the two guys serving were often rushed of their feet. More staff would be useful as they did looked exhausted at times and often a bit grumpy which I could understand.
Food in the main restaurant was the hotels biggest failing. Very poor selection, lukewarm and tasteless. I have always looked forward to having my evening meal on holiday and have never understood people moaning about the quality or quantity. However, I didn’t look forward to dinner and I struggled on some nights to find something that looked and tasted appetising. The lady serving the food cooked to order was extremely rude and aggressive to the point you were nervous to ask for anything. My daughter came down with a stomach bug on the 2nd day which meant she had very little to eat for the remainder of the holiday so we were glad we hadn’t booked All inclusive. As others have mentioned the All inclusive deal is not worth the money. Poor food choice and very limited menu for lunch, along with very limited choice of drinks makes All Inclusive a waste of money.
The staff on reception were fabulous and always helpful. Special mention to Nicholas the entertainment guy who was very friendly and tried hard to engage guests. He also helped us arrange an independent bus trip to Citualdella which was a lovely day out. Taxi to Mahon bus station was around 8 euros and bus to Citualdella was 5 euros. The Menorca bus service is very good and you can get to most places very easily. We had planned a trip to Cala Caldana but sadly my daughter was not well enough.
Overall, despite a few grumbles we enjoyed our stay here. The Sky bar is fabulous, with several jacuzzis to relax in while drinking cocktails and admiring the beautiful views. We would definitely return but on a bed and breakfast basis. If you are looking for a relaxing, comfortable hotel, near the airport and with beautiful views on your doorstep then this is the hotel for you. Perfect for a long weekend away.

Another great Barceló hotel

5/5 - July, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Another great hotel and location they have recently spent a lot of money on refurbishment.

Helpful staff and can all speak English well and the free entertainment was good fun in the evening and round the pool!

Room was always clean and tidy we had a view of the pool and booked direct ourselves which gave us the freedom to choose meal times and a lot of the all inclusive guests had a little moan about the choice of menu and drinks

The sky bar was fun and none of the pools were every that busy very friendly guests and best of all no screaming children!

Lots of good local restaurants and bars to choose from or easy bus ride to Mahon try the Lemon bar for drinks

A weekend away

4/5 - June, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

This is the second time I have stayed at the Barcelo Hamilton and went half board this time- best value!. Previously I stayed all inclusive I knew that it was restrictive and the sky bar isn't included at all; although there is a 50% reduction! We were well looked after and felt relaxed from the point of arrival.

Check in was quick and our room was lovely. The balconies are very small, we had a room overlooking the pool area as we did n't plan on staying in our room too much to enjoy the view of the harbour. The pool area is very quiet and can be quite shaded in the afternoon, which was a blessing at times as it was very hot.

The sky bar/roof terrace is a wonderful place to while away the hours, the sunbeds are plentiful and the spas/jacuzzis are delightful to cool off in. Not heated and also not working very well. The sky bar is great and the lunch we ordered from there was very nice and freshly cooked, took a long time to arrive and more variety would have been nice especially a tapas selection.

The main restaurant is a buffet style for breakfast and dinner. Plenty of selection for breakfast from fruit, cereals, continental meats and cheeses through to a traditional cooked breakfast. Food prep staff work very hard, the waiting staff are slow at times to clear the tables but otherwise the dining area is clean and drinks service in the evening is prompt.

The location is fabulous, near the entrance to the harbour, the little bar area a short walk away with plenty of bars and restaurants. The nightlife in the hotel is quiet and it was nice to be able to get out and enjoy a selection of nice bars.Nothing rowdy or loud music. There is a water taxi available from this harbour that will take you into Mahon. 12.50 euros a person, a great way to arrive and you get to see all the interesting areas, villas and yachts.

However all of that said, the niggles are only minor and if I'm honest did n't affect the weekend at all. We will be going back and would recommend it to anyone!

5/5 - June, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

relaxing, accommodating and full of things to do. The receptionists were wonderful and provided us will tons of information about the island. they spoke multiple languages and went above and beyond. The two pools were great and the hottubs on the rooftop where relaxing although they were slightly cold( ok for when the sun is out but freezing at night) I would recommend this hotel to everyone! It made for a great Honeymoon!

Adult Holiday with views to Lie back and enjoy.

4/5 - June, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

This is our third year staying at the Barcelo Hamilton. We love Es Castell, its a lovely Spanish village with local families eating in the local Bars. We love the Hotel is adult only. We had a room with sea view 118. This was over the outside dining area, but was not noisy and had wonderful views over the estuary with the yachts and cruise ships passing by. The rooms are on the small side, but we love the layout with Kettle, fridge, bottle of water each day and large walk in shower. The balcony is small with just enough space for a small table and two chairs. The roof top terrace is what we enjoy most in the hotel. It is decked, has six hot tubs and lots of sunbeds as well as the Sky Bar. We spend most of our day there, as the views are to die for. The first time we stayed we were all inclusive, but as so few drinks were included in this, we have gone half board for the past two years. There are lots of restaurant in front of the hotel and round the bay in Cala Fonts which can be pricey, but if you take a walk along some of the streets the bars are so much cheaper and most do food. We ate at lunchtime at Cafe Camara, just down from the police station, where Tony and family work exceptionally hard all day serving really good Spanish food. The Hamilton this year did not have the variety of food we have had in the past, but it was much quieter this year. it wont stop us from going again and enjoying this lovely hotel

5/5 - June, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Fantastic location with amazing views if you book a sea view room. Beautiful hotel and extremely clean. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and always smiling. Buffet breakfast had plenty of choice and lovely outdoor seating area.
Not so impressed with the dinner buffet so we ate out for our evening meals.
Pool bar food and service was excellent and although we were on all inclusive basis prices seemed reasonable - be aware if you go all inclusive that not everything is included!! There are menus showing drinks and food that are included but anything else is offered at 50% discount. No drinks are AI in the sky bar but you can take drinks from other bars up there as long as you get/exchange for plastic glass. Make sure you take note of service times at bars so you aren’t disappointed!
Rooms are a bit quirky in design but worked perfectly well for us. Huge bed and lovely balcony. Would definitely return

Adult only bliss

5/5 - June, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Two weeks half board stay in the fabulous Hotel, location couldn't fault it....quality & choice of food was outstanding. Staff very warm & welcoming.
We book a sea view room which made the holiday more enjoyable.
Roof top bar with panoramic views of the bay, sunbeds, Jacuzzis, gets the sun all day long.(for you sun worshipers) gets a bit too much as there is no shade, but highly recommend it for peace & tranquillity.
Short walk to the pretty harbour, few bars/restaurants to choose from, Recommend

The roof top terrace is amazing

4/5 - June, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

A brand new hotel at the end of the road of a traditional little village, right in front of the sea.
Check in was long. It was last mins, company booked for 6 of us but check in more than 30 mins to get our rooms. Staff are friendly though.
No breakfast in the restaurant till 0730, so the receptionist proposed us picnic box since we leave at 0630. However, after dinner I doubled check & asked for 10 mins earlier... it seems no order was placed.
Room was spacious, modern, clean, quiet & the bed is very comfortable.
My room is on the corner, so I can see at all the other balcony rooms.
The roof top terrace is amazing, it's several jacuzzis with some cousins seating & the view is breathe taking. This is a MUST to go to.

Another excellent week at Barcelo Hamilton Menorca

4/5 - June, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Our 7th Visit and not disappointed. Hotel maintains great quality and excellent staff. Service was usual high standard and room was very good. Location and transfer time from airport are excellent. Staff are best asset and my only dislike is that other male guests lower the standard in the dining room at evenings by wearing shorts.
