Our new favorite hotel!

5/5 - September, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

My boyfriend and I booked this hotel last minute for a week away. We stayed from the 26th of august till the 3rd of September. Our check is was quick and informative and the staff were really friendly and helpful all throughout our stay. We booked a standard room but requested a double bed which we received. Our room was 432 and also had a lovely view. The room was spotless and modern and was cleaned everyday.
The location of the hotel was another huge advantage. It was less then 10 minutes to the strip veronica's and then another short walk to the area were the hard rock cafe is.
We had breakfast in the hotel every morning and were really impressed. I am a really picky eater and there was more then enough options. It was by far the best and nicest selection I have had in a hotel. We had lunch one day in the beach club and it was lovely. The main pool was lovely and had enough beds. It was always spotless. The same for the roof top pool.
I would highly recommend this hotel especially for couples. Overall the hotel was amazing! We will 100% be returning again!

Tigotan.. At the top of their game.

5/5 - September, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Myself and my partner decided on a couples holiday in September ideally in an adult only hotel and I checked the reviews and prices of strings of different hotels across Spain, Portugal and the islands.

Tigotan seemed to be the absolute best all rounder so we booked for 7 days, 6 nights via booking.com as it meant we only had to pay upon arrival.

First off all, this hotel is stunning. The amenities are fantastic. The staff are outstanding! The cocktails in Cafe Del Mar (rooftop bar) were well executed. We chose half board for inclusive breakfast and dinner and I believe it was well worth it, the food was great!

Arrival: hotel is central to everything. Minutes from large commercial centres and upmarket safari commercial centre (giggle this place) in between the strip on the one side and newly developed area on the other. Hotel is immaculately clean crisp and newly decorated. Staff are friendly, energetic and only too willing to accommodate. Separate check in and out desks, why every hotel doesn't have this, I don't know. Point of contact on the excursion desk all day! I believe I booked a pool view, seemingly not as I found out though for an additional 20 euro a day you can upgrade to a much larger room with huge balcony over looking the pool, stayed in room 180, it's ace, a no brainer. Late check out for an additional €40 which allows check out up to 6pm on your last day! Free champagne on arrival and each morning at breakfast.

Buffet breakfast each morning was extensive with English cooked breakfast, champagne, fresh fruits, meats, breads and fruits.. Brilliant!

Daily activities and games, water volleyball, music and a very entertaining rock and roll show, yoga on paddle boards and also off water by the stage.. The staff were immensely engaging throughout.

Evening time entertainment in the lobby bar, usually live music, piano, singing etc. And in the rooftop bar there was more 'sunset' type chill out music, saxophonist and dj. The cocktails here are unbelievable!

Hotel has a games room with pool tables, xbox and ps4. Large pool and two Jacuzzis on the ground floor, infinity pools on the roof, gym and Turkish baths on the rooftop.

I seen a review saying you can't take drinks outside, incorrect you just need a plastic cup instead of a glass. For Dinner, there are two restaurants.. One more fine dining and the other was buffet and usually had beef, turkey or chicken and fish cooked to your liking along with all the trimmings such as potatoes cooked numerous ways, vegetables etc. A huge variety of meaty local dishes, pizzas, fresh meats, sauces, roasts meats etc. Along with loads of different deserts.

I will absolutely be back next year. If you end up in a non pool room just pay the upgrade price, you won't regret it. Rooms cleaned daily. All music closed off in the hotel at about 12.30 each night. Everything a two minute walk away.. Pharmacy, pubs, bars, club, restaurants, the strip, bank machines, taxis etc. Siam water park is €5 in a taxi. Tfs airport is €25 for two people. If you like Chinese food is recommend Merlion Chinese down by the strip. For burger and chips it has to be hard Rock Cafe up at the safari commercial centre or for Italian La Trattoria at the safari commercial centre. All minutes away.

Fantastic Hotel in a great location.

My wife and I are currently spending our last day in this fantastic hotel, and I can honestly say, that we haven't stayed in a better hotel.. Ever.

From the moment we arrived, with a glass of Cava and speedy check in, you just know that you've arrived somewhere special.

We're on the half board package, and the food option's are superb. Breakfast's are a treat and there are plenty of option's, from full British to continental, you'll find something for everyone's taste.

The dinner's are when the Tigotan comes into it's own, fantastic variation every night, and never seen the same option twice in the week we've been here. Reasonably priced drinks also.

The room's are large and spotless, plus they're made up every day by a hard working and pleasent staff. Excellent service.

The pool area is immaculate, plenty of bed's for everyone and the Balinese bed's are a delight and so comfortable.

A special mention has to go to the animation team, who take pride in their work and work tirelessly to entertain and make your holiday memorable. Foam pool party is awesome.

Cafe del Mar on the rooftop is an amazing experience, very laid back with a great vibe. Also on the roof is the infinity pool, you have to try this and perfect for that special photo.

I can't find one negative about this hotel, and although we never book the same hotel, the Hotel Tigotan is the exception to the rule, wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place and look forward to spending many more holidays here in the future.

Overall, this is the best hotel we have ever stayed at.

Go ahead and book it, I promise you won't be disappointed.

Perfect week

5/5 - September, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

My boyfriend and I were transferred to this hotel upon arrival to the one we originally booked and we couldn’t have been happier with being sent here.

First impression was that the hotel was stunning and staff were so lovely. We arrived at midnight to a glass of champagne in reception and a plate of food prepared for us as late arrivals. Just what we needed after a long day of travelling.

Room was gorgeous with a lovely view of the pool. We couldn’t wait to look around properly the next morning.

We were half board and the food on offer was amazing. Breakfasts were perfect with lots of choice, same for dinner. We couldn’t have been happier, especially with the flexible times of eating from 7:30 to 10:30 (am and pm).

Cafe Del Mar on the rooftop is stunning, we spent a lot of time up there and loved it.

Hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from gorgeous bars, the beach and restaurants, the Safari Centre is literally 7 minutes away.

We had a late return flight and the hotel kindly let us stay in our room until 6pm for the small cost of €40. This was definitely worth doing considering we would have had to check out at 12pm had we not been offered this.

We were sad to leave this hotel and will definitely be returning when we next go to Tenerife. We can’t wait to go back.

I couldn’t rate the place higher - thank you for such a lovely week.

Nice holiday break

4/5 - September, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Recently returned from a 2 week stay at Tigotan. Our arrival and check in was quick and positive with welcoming, friendly staff. The reception area is bright, spacious and very modern.
Upon arrival to our room, accompanied by a member of the guest experience team, we were happy to find a clean, comfortable looking space with a small stocked fridge. We stayed in a Smart Room which was very nice looking (but I am not convinced it was worth the extra money). The bed was comfortable and bathroom stocked with shampoo etc. There is also a safe, free to use which in our opinion is essential. The drinks in the fridge included water, soft drinks and 2 bottles or beer. Not thrilling for those of us who do not drink beer. Also, there is no bottle opener which we had to collect from reception. It would make sense to keep this in the room. We never found the fridge to be particuarly chilled. We complained twice. It was acknowledge and changed the second time but we both agreed that chilled drinks were not achievable. The air con worked well and due to the heat was essential. My partner ironed a lot of clothes of arrival. He hated having to carry everything down to the basement. We certainly prefer hotels like the mare nostrum resort where they bring the iron to your room. Its just those extra comforts that help.

Also, we were Exclusive Half Board. There's pro's and con's to this service. The obvious treat being free drinks until 6.30pm and a selection of nibbles. The food items daily were cubes of cheese, pate sort ham, pickles, olives and pastries. Bread rolls would be a good addition in our opinion, but we did use the service on a few occassions. The downside to this is that drinks cannot be taken from that room. We would have enjoyed lying by the pool with a cool drink as oppossed to remaining in the one area. I understand not all guests are EHB but other hotels have managed this better. It was annoying buying juice at the bar when I could get it free inside, I just didnt want to sit at that area at certain times. Dinner was included with a selection to suit all tastes but drinks including water came at a price. The Santa Rosa is a touch of class and the America Salad is to die for!!

The pool areas very nice, lots of bed and usually easy to get a bed. Loved the mini jacuzzi pool and it was a lot quieter. The infinity pool on the roof top is lush with gorgeous views but soooo many posers! It was quite amusing to watch! Cafe Del Mar is also on the roof but overpriced! The bottom bar was cheaper but you cannot take any drinks into Cafe Del Mar which is simply ludicrous. We kust sat on our balcony with our own wine and you can still hear everything clearly. We spent most nights out anyway. The atmosphere in Las Americas is great with lovely bars.

Our biggest issue was cockroaches!! On night 2 at aroynd 1am we were watching a movie in bed. A masdive, flying cockroach decided to join us in bed! After minor heart failure we were moved rooms. However, 8 out of 13 nights we had cockroaches coming in during the night. They crawl under the balcony doors (when closed) and hide usually under the wardrobe. We got a cockroach spray which we sprayed along the door everynight. It was vile and one area I will not miss!! Oh, and we were rooms 568 and 512 so not down low.

Overall our holiday was very good. A lovely hotel, great location but a few errors being made letting this hotel down. We would recommend it to people aged between 20-40 years old and suggest a standard room would be suffice.

Great hotel

5/5 - September, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Fantastic stay we were returning after many years and found the hotel even better than our last stay . Great staff great food great view better with a room facing the pool . We will be going back that’s for sure . Better than any of the five stars on the island . Fantastic value with the food superb , big choice .

Amazing , Friendly , Perfect

5/5 - September, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

As a couple my fiancé & I have been to Las Americas several times but this hotel has been by far the best. The staff are so helpful and friendly and the decor is fresh and modern. We were basic half board so that included breakfast and dinner . There was a wide variety of food & drinks to suit everyone at both meals and the staff are all very attentive and friendly especially Ramero and Julia . The entertainment both during the day by the pool and at night in the hotel bar are fab and suit all ages . Our flight home was at 9pm so on our last day after breakfast we went to reception and spoke to the extremely helpful Petronela who let us pay extra to keep our own room til 6pm which was really helpful as it meant we could go for a swim and really relax on our last day without having to worry about checking out & where to store our suitcases. The Staff here really go all out to make your stay special. I will obviously be returning again next year .

Amazing friendly hotel

5/5 - August, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Where to start with the Tigotan Lovers and friends Hotel. My partner and I have just come back from a 10 day stay and we couldn't find one fault with the hotel.
Upon arrival we were greeted with a glass of bubbly and checked in very quickly. We went for the economy room and didn't feel the need to upgrade as it was good enough for us. Very clean, spacious and a nice view onto the main road side.
All of the staff at Tigotan are always smiling, they greet you and make sure you are okay. The animation team were amazing and worked so hard to entertain you and get you involved. The hotel should definitely keep all of the events on that we had over the 10 days but we especially enjoyed the pool and foam party. Both events had all age groups joining in.
If we had to put one negative it would be 'why are the drinks in Cafe Del Mar dearer than in the bar', but both rooms have a lovely vibe.
The hotel is situated really close to all amenities and in an ideal location. You shouldn't book transfer just jump in a taxi as its only about 15 minutes away from the airport and cost us around 23 euros.
We just want to say thank you so much tigotan for our stay and making us feel very welcome. A special thank you to the animation team.

Romance Room

5/5 - August, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

I have just come back from a stay at the tigotan hotel.

My partner and I stayed in the romance room for one week. To start off the check in went very well and if you are an exclusive guest, you will have an experienced guest team greet you to go through details about your stay and the benefits you have included.

The room is beautiful and is exactly what you see in the pictures online, the bed is so comfy and the bath tub is really big.

The choice of food is great at the hotel, also the exclusive lounge is really nice and there is an excellent selection of drinks.

Our room was located on the second floor which came as a surprise to us as we believed the romance rooms were on the top floor but still had a lovely view of the pool.

There was one problem we had during our stay which was on the second night we returned to our room to find a cockroach on the floor my partner got rid of it so I was happy to forget about this as we believed this might have been down to leaving balcony door open. However the next evening we returned to another cockroach which was big in size my partner also got rid of this one, I did not complain about this as I know this can happen but didn’t expect this in a 4 star hotel.

Overall a brilliant hotel that I would 100% reccommend especially the romance room and the hotel entertainment is excellent.

Also our room wasn’t soundproof even though certain sites lead you to believe this.

Fantastic hotel

5/5 - August, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Hotel is probably as close to perfect you'll get and probably the best you'll get in PDLA.

We have the exclusive package so upon check in we were able to skip check in and was a separate desc for exclusive packages customers. Check in was smooth and took little to no t me. We got free prosecco will we waited. The lounge even had a nice fragrance smell.

Room was really big with the Jacuzzi bath and shower too. Jacuzzi was large enough for two but did take forever to fill ( around half an hour ). Room had a great pool view and nice balcony which was good for the entertainment. Room had smart technology which was a bonus to play music and control the lights.

Food was okay but over the 7 days it was repeated a bit too much which I feel prevents it from being a perfect hotel. Was a large enough selection and the dessert was the best bit.

Tried the "fancier" more formal restaurant, honestly wouldn't recommend it.

The pool was big and a lot of sunchairs which meant you didn't have to try and reserve one in the morning and had a great pool party one day a week.

The Hidden Gem of Playa Del Las Americas

4/5 - August, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Writing this review as I enjoy my last day at Tigotan. From our arrival at the hotel it was clear Tigotan Friends and Lovers is not your standard week in the sun. A glass of fizz greats all guests as they check in with friendly staff taking time to explain all on offer at the hotel. The facilites the hotel have on offer are well ahead of their 4 star competitors! The hotel is sleek, chic and well maintained. The rooms are airy and comfortable with decent air con. The pool areas are a real treat!! The hotel boasts an infiniti pool area on the roof (booking beds up here does cost however you can still use the pool without a bed). Although we used the infiniti pool one on occassion (for free during pool party) the standard pool is so fantastic i didnt feel the need to book a rooftop bed. There are a good amount of Bali beds and double poolside beds on offer but be warned these are snapped up quick. There still remains plentyful supply of sunbeds regardless of the time of day and even these standard sunbeds are miles better than most hotels.

I stayed half board which included breakfast and dinner. The food was good quality and varied. Like all half boards some dishes stay the same to carer for picky eaters like pasta, pizza, chips n steak etc but there was some welcome additions like sushi, caviar, cheese boards, fresh fish station, and a different roast meat each day. Rest assured you will never get bored or go hungry.

Finally this is an adult hotel, massive plus point! No kids screaming by the pool or running around the dining room.( im not a kid hater nor did I actively seek an adult only hotel but it was a nice addition). The age group is varied and the hotel attracts a lovely mix of guests. This really is a couples retreat whether ur in your 20s,30s or 50s. Im in a couple, both are early 30s and never felt too old or too young.

If I had one critue it is the sunbed blockers that plight all sun holidays including Tigotan. This hotel boasts a policy that reserving beds with your towel is not permitted and they even put a letter on beds thats are vacant for over 30 mins however towels are seldom removed. I witnessed myself the 9am rush of guests clambering for the bali and double beds as staff opened the pool area. 10 minutes later the pool area is akin to chernobyl with guests heading off for their breakfast, morning stroll or back to bed.The hotel clearly are aware of this so my advice to potential guests is this; dont be overly polite, reserve ur bed with ur towel and enjoy!! If you dont someone else will.

To sum up I stayed half board in a standard double room. The food and stay was amazing, i would 100% reccommend!

Hotel Tigotan Tenerife’s GEM

5/5 - August, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Just back from 2 weeks in the Hotel Tigotan Tenerife and what a holiday we had, all simply down to the Hotel and its Staff.
It’s an Adult Hotel only which at first I was rather concerned about as the only other time we book an Adult Only was in Lanzarote which was dreadful.
Let’s start with the Tigotan what a beautiful 4* Hotel. Our room was 116 situated over pool 1 floor up and on the same level as reception making everything very easily accessible.
The room itself was very spacious and beautiful décor, the beds were so comfortable. We had a large balcony with a gorgeous view of the Pool and surroundings.
The food in the restaurant was excellent, both breakfast and Dinner. The Varity at Evening meals were so good I never had the same meal twice, and as for the breakfast the choices were immense.
Now for the main reasons we rate this hotel so highly is 1/ the staff – from the ground staff, the pool attendants, the waitresses, reception staff, the cleaners, the Animation Team, the Maintenance Team, through to the Manageress who were all very professional, courteous, and helpful nothing was a problem. I was going to name individuals but I would be afraid of missing someone out as they were all marvellous (and also I do not know everyone’s name) All I can ask is that the Manageress to passes on our appreciation to every single member of Staff.
The next key contributor to us having such a terrific holiday was the Entertainment both during the day and in the evenings. Every other day there was a show put on at the poolside with 50;sand 30’s music, they held a Gladiators Show which was followed with a Guests Gladiators challenge on a blown up pontoon in the pool (my side are still sore laughing, remember, this was Adults only from 18 > 70+ with all ages taking part). Then there was the POOL FOAM PARTY with various styles of music. There were Jugglers, Acrobats’, etc and again with all ages taking part dancing in the pool and letting their hair down. It was marvellous to see everyone feeling free to let their hair down and take part in things and actually reliving our youths. On other days there was Pool Aerobics, Yoga on sail boards in the pool, Water volley ball and Water Polo
Before you think this is not for me then I will bring to your attention, not everyone took part and no one from the Animation Team forced anyone, they actually tell you that the watching audience is as important as the participants. But if your like ourselves we could not resist in joining the foam party if only to tell our daughter, your old Mum and dad (+60’s club) actually took part in a FOAM PARTY #beenthereandoneit.
The Evening Entertainment in the Hotel was very good as well, the Hotel seem to go for professional live groups and none of these so-called tribute acts which personally I cannot stand.
In summary, I would without fear of contradiction say this was the Best 4* Hotel we have ever stayed in and the main contributor was the Staff lead by a very Conscientious and Pleasant Manageress who always took time to mingle and speak with the Guest asking if everything was to our satisfaction. I have just notice in Trip Advisor it asks the Question "Is it a quite Hotel " YES OR NO -- well its what you want it to be there is areas where you can hide away if you prefer it to be quite.
To the Hotel Tigotan and Everyone on their team I can only congratulate them and pass on our thanks for one of the most enjoyable holidays my wife and myself have had and we hope to see you all again, and please - don’t change.

Best hotel I've stayed in abroad

5/5 - August, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

From start to finish, Tigotan surpassed expectations.
We stayed for one week in July 2018, a little honeymoon break shortly after our wedding.

We upgraded to the Romance package, the room itself was worth the upgrade.

On arrival we were greeted with a glass of bubbly and escorted down to the restaurant for dinner as we arrived after 9pm the staff were keen for us to be able to have something to eat before checking in.

The food was amazing and a real highlight of the stay. Originally we had planned on eating out a few nights but the selection and quality of food available was so good that each evening we couldn't wait to go for dinner. We also had dinner one night in the Santa Rosa Grill.

Everything about the hotel, from the restaurant to the pool area was spotless. The animation team kept guests entertained throughout the day by the pool and in the evening by the bar.

The rooftop terrace was beautiful and well worth a trip up to have a drink before heading out for the night. The Exclusive Lounge was a bit of a let down and probably the only criticism I would have. The lounge itself is nice but would be nicer if we could bring drinks outside to enjoy by the pool.

All in all a first class stay and we will definitely return in the future. Highly recommended.

Nothing but compliments!

5/5 - August, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

We had a ten night stay here recently and I don't have one bad word to say.

The hotel is beautiful and so clean with lovely staff. The food was great with a massive selection at breakfast and dinner. They take attention to detail very seriously that's clear to see. The hotels in a great location, a stone throw away from the beach and the safari centre (shopping, bars and restaurants) and a supermarket on the doorstep. The entertainment during the day was brilliant and a good variation. The foam party especially was my favourite. Cafe del Mar is a special touch on the hotel and sets it aside from the rest in Tenerife. Amazing views and cocktails and a proper taste of luxury. Speaking of which our room was so luxurious and of a five star standard. Jacuzzi bath was great as well as complimentary toiletries, bathrobes and slippers. Our mini bar was also stocked and free. Word of advice is pay for the exclusive service everything standard customers pay for you get for free. On arrival someone from the team told us what was included in our exclusive service and she basically crossed everything standard customers were charged for off the list and told us we didn't have to pay for these. I'm really impressed with the hotel and will definitely return in the future.

Great Quality Hotel!

5/5 - August, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

Me and my friend stayed here for 4 nights at the start of August. The hotel is simply beautiful from the outside in. Walking into reception and being welcomed instantly by the lovely reception staff who were so helpful, anything you need to know they are there to provide all information to you.

ROOMS

Rooms well equipped with television, balcony/outdoor seating area, comfy beds, clean bathroom, safe, wardrobe, and offer of dry cleaning/ironing service (extra charge). Rooms are not dated at all, not all rooms you see on their website look like that but still of top quality and most importantly clean!

POOLS

This hotel has 3 pools.

Rooftop Pool - 6th floor infinity pool and jacuzzi that overlooks las americas and sundown.

Main Pool - located in the centre of the hotel which has pool parties and other great entertainment through the day.

Jacuzzi pool - located just behind the main pool which is great for relaxation away from the main pool; again being an adults only hotel you rarely got major noise or hustle and bustle.. all pools were fantastic for relaxation and sun-loungers easily accessible.

LOCATION

Great location, walking out of the hotel and turning right you will find yourself walking down towards Hard Rock Cafe and all shopping complex’s with main eateries on the seafront. Walking left out of the hotel you will find yourself walking towards more of the nightlife strip and where you can find Papagayo beach club/mini golf etc etc..

10 minutes walk from both destinations.

There is a free bus from a location 5 mins walk away that can take you straight to Siam Water Park which is super ideal.

FOOD

Food presented for both breakfast and evening was of a buffet style; breakfast had everything you could imagine including sausage, bacon, eggs/omelette/Spanish omelette, mushrooms, pastries etc. Evening had a great mix of foods from cantonese, Italian, Spanish, English.. the food caters for all so you will never struggle to find a good meal if you book B.B. or Half Board.

All in all I would give this hotel a 5* review purely because I could not fault anything during my stay. Thank you Tigotan and your team for such a pleasant stay!

The best!

5/5 - July, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

This is by far the most beautiful, accommodating and well-equipped hotel I have ever stayed in. We received a glass of cava on arrival, during an easy and quick check in.

Room:
We had a room on the 2nd floor, which faced out onto the street at the front of the hotel. We were disappointed it was not a pool view room at first, however, it turned out that the pool view rooms would always experience the noise from Cafe del Mar, and our room was much quieter as the street had next to no noise at all!
There was 3 of us staying, and we couldn't believe the size of the room, the bathroom (with double sink which made getting ready much easier) and the large balcony. The room was cleaned and tidied everyday, with fresh towels and bathroom products given each day too.

Food:
As a para of 3 fussy eaters, we were worried about the food situation... but we needn't have been! There was so much choice and we always found many different things that we liked.

Swimming Pool:
We experienced no issues getting sunbeds by the pool - as a lot of people only sunbathed first thing and left after a few hours so by the time we went down at 11/12pm there was plenty free for us.
The pool itself was lovely and clean and not cold.
We enjoyed using the pool bar for lunch each day and found it reasonably priced for both food and drinks.
The rooftop infinity pool is simply amazing - you NEED to spend some time up there to take in the amazing view it offers.

Staff:
Amazing, friendly and SO helpful!

Adults only hotel delights!.

5/5 - July, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

We booked this trip with another couple on Jet2 site. This was based primarily on it being an adults only hotel. Location was good. Room spacious, clean and all staff were very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Facilities were very good. On the roof was an infinity pool, Jacuzzi, gym(slightly limited equipment) spa and bar. Below was a large pool with daily activities such as aqua aerobics, water polo. This pool was also excellent for people with disabilities. Adapted rooms were on ground floor and pool had a ramp with rails to assist people with mobility issues. Breakfast and dinner were buffet style with a huge choice of things to eat. Some items cooked to order i.e. omelettes/pancakes for breakfast and steak in the evening. Entertainment in the evening and for the adventurous a private nude bathing area!.
Finally the hotel offers an "exclusive upgrade available ". Be careful that you fully read and understand the conditions, E.g drinks only available in a small bar area and only up to 6pm. However this did not spoil a very good weeks holiday in a very good hotel.

Awesome hotel

5/5 - July, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

This hotel lives up to its reputation and more!
The service, food and staff are second to none, and nothing is too much trouble for ANY staff.
Great entertainment team too, which provides both daytime and evening fun, along with live singers and bands most nights.
Not really sure why there are some negatives about this hotel, as I’m sure these are “everyday” problems that are bound to occur.
Top floor is amazing too, with its infinity pool and bar, along with amenities for everyone to enjoy.
Great bar and staff there too.
Can’t say enough about this fantastic experience.
Thank you to everyone at TIGOTAN for a wonderful stay.... see you again soon

Nicely revamped hotel in an excellent resort position

4/5 - July, 2018 Tripadvisor.com

This is a comfortable four star hotel with masses of fun entertainment in an adults only environment.

It boasts a large ground floor pool with plenty of sunbeds, several jacuzzis, a stunning infinity pool next to the nudist area on the roof and great entertainment from a very hard working team.

There were also regular fashion shows, a massage service round the pool, turkish bath, and jewellery to buy in case you've forgotten anything.

Breakfast was excellent with everything you could think of to eat available. Sleep quality depended on your neighbours and, unfortunately ours came in very noisily at 4am every day. Some better sound proofing would have been appreciated.

We had a standard room with a pool view from the balcony which was preferable to a road view. It had two single beds pushed together, air conditioning, wi-fi, a large bathroom with toiletries and hairdryer. The website shows nicer rooms, which presumably cost more, plus an exclusive guest service which has dedicated, more sumptuous areas and services like day beds nearer the entertainment.

We're not a fan of two-tier services as it makes it look like some guests are more valued than others. However you have the choice and there's no doubt if you want to pay more you get a more comfortable experience.

This is our third time at the property and loyalty was rewarded with a bottle of wine and sweets in the room. On previous stays it was the hidden gem that was the Noelia Sur. Now it has grown into a typical four star of the area, extended and revamped very effectively.

Love this hotel!

Just returned from a 14 night stay at Tigotan, what an amazing hotel and cannot wait to return! We holidayed in Las Americas last year and popped into Tigotan on our final day, we were so impressed we booked directly there and then, the hotel did not disappoint at all! Where do I start?
Firstly the hotel has a great look and feel about it, very stylish outside and in. First impressions of reception area, main pool and infinity rooftop pool are outstanding. We chose a standard pool view room in the end after deciding that we would not get a great deal of use out of the hot tub in a romance room. The room was completely adequate, ample size, comfy beds and good size balcony. Rooms were kept clean by the friendly cleaning team, my only 2 minus points were that my wife would have like a dressing table mirror and myself personally would have preferred a more modern rainfall shower.
Food was really nice, buffet restaurant had a great selection and often found myself having 4 or 5 smaller courses, even at breakfast too!
The exclusive package is very useful indeed and go for this if you can afford it. Included is access to the exclusive lounge (1030-1830), pour your own drinks, alcoholic and soft/tea/coffee. Also with exclusive HB you can reserve sun beds by the infinity rooftop pool, how nice to be able to reserve a sun bed for the day. The exclusive package includes 2 meals a week in the Santa Rosa grill, fantastic food, massive steaks but a limited menu selection.
The entertainment team led by Marik are superb and in my opinion give the hotel a bit of the X factor! They are constantly busy with something always going on! Another point to note is the ease in which to get a sun bed, you can walk down at midday and still get one, there are so many!
To summarise:
Good points:
Stylish/Good looking hotel/excellent food/Great facilities/Amazing friendly helpful staff/Main pool area/Gorgeous infinity pool/animation team/So many sun beds

A great return visit

Returned to this hotel after a great stay last year and, once again, we weren't disappointed. Still the same great food, great rooms and fantastic staff who did absolutely everything they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

Once again we upgraded our room in advance (a 'Romance Room' on this occasion) and had two delicious complimentary meals in the Santa Rosa grill - the size of the rib-eye steak was something to behold!

The bar staff all over the hotel are really friendly but we'd like to mention Fabian, Juan, Maida and Patricia in particular, who always took a few moments to have a chat with us and made us feel very welcome: they are a credit to the hotel. The assistant manager, David, was also around a lot and was always asking if we were enjoying our stay. We had no complaints at all!

Access to the Exclusive Lounge was, once again, a real plus and was a great place to enjoy the range of drinks and snacks on offer.

We also indulged in a facial too! Excellent staff in the onsite spa who made the experience really worthwhile.

We also made use of the gym on a couple of occasions - but with the air conditioning set at 26ºC it was a bit warm for us on the whole!

But, we'd definitely go back again. Great food, lovely pool and friendly staff - why would we stay anywhere else in Tenerife?

Good rooms, good food, good staff

Me and my girlfriend recently stayed here for 7 nights and when we arrived we were very impressed with the service and appearance of the reception. We were shown our room which was clean, however a little basic, and our mini fridge didn’t work. We went straight down for our evening meal and were impressed with the variety of food to choose from. Fresh cooked meats and oriental choices are available. On our second night there we were awoken at 3am to our neighbours coming back from a night out. They played music loud on the balcony so we went down to complain and the woman at the reception sent up the security guard straight away and they were quiet. This happened again on our 4th night however this time the male at reception and a different security guard weren’t very helpful as they said it was an “adult hotel” and there “will be noise” which we understood, to a degree, however as it was 4am this time we thought that something could have been done. We went down to reception in the morning and asked to move rooms, which they did no problem. The entertainment around the pool during the day can be very loud so if you’re looking for a quiet holiday, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Overall the majority of the staff are helpful and friendly and the food is also a good standard. The rooms are clean and there is a TV, but not much else. It is also quite a noisy hotel. On the whole we enjoyed our stay, but wouldn’t visit again.

Excellent stay

Stayed here for a week as a couple in a romance room. Check in was great , we were brought to our room and everything was explained to us . Room was lovely with large double jacuzzi . Takes a while to fill but this didn’t bother us. Food was lovely , plenty of choice . Pool area is lovely ,always free sun-beds throughout the day. It is in a great location close to everything . We will definitely return.

Amazing experience. We are definitely going back!

I loved this hotel. For a couple seeking a fun, relaxing, high-quality hotel experience in a great location for exploring Tenerife's beaches and restaurants, Tigotan could not have been better!! The breakfast buffet was top class and the daytime pool experience was just perfect. The staff were so attentive and the facilities were very well maintained. Perfect location and beautiful holiday destination. We're going back soon!

Wonderful hotel, lovely staff, brilliant stay

Stayed here from 18th June to 28th June and wow what a hotel.
I was a little sceptical staying here at first as being ‘adults only’ I didn’t want to feel like I was going on a Saga holiday since I’m still young(ish) but didn’t need to worry as the hotel had a great mix of all ages and did really well to cater for everyone no matter how old or young.
The hotel has a contemporary but quirky feel to it, with little high-end touches to make you feel like your somewhere special, but without the stuffiness and arrogance of similar high end hotels.
The reception area is bright and lavish, with a glass of cava given on arrival, check in was very fast and smooth, as we arrived late we were sent to get some food before the evening service finished then checked in afterwards which was a nice thought since we had been travelling all day.
We were given a standard room (537) just underneath the Tigotan sign facing the front of the hotel above the entrance. The room was spacious, clean and tidy. It got the sun most of the day and some nice views of the mountains. We had 2 single beds pushed together, but that was fine as they are wider than normal singles and firm but comfortable to sleep on. The bathroom contained a bath and a shower attached to the taps, but this was powerful enough and did the job. The maids came around and cleaned every day. Personally I would have been disappointed paying rather a lot of extra money just for effectively the same room overlooking the pool or an upgraded room unless I was interested in the ‘exclusive’ benefits the upgrade brings or someone who likes spending a lot of time on the balcony. My only criticism with the rooms are they are a quite dated compared to the public areas of the hotel, and they lack power points around the desk area for things like a kettle etc.
You can pay for an ‘exclusive half board upgrade’ which gives you extras in your room such as Nespresso machine, kettle, fruit, drinks in the mini bar, free safe use, pool towels etc as well as access to the “exclusive lounge” where you get unlimited free soft, hot and alcoholic drinks (between 11am and 6pm) plus 2 visits to the Santa Rosa Grill on site restaurant. For me this wasn’t worth it as nothing can be taken out of the ‘exclusive lounge’ area so you have to keep visiting the lounge and stay in there every time you want a drink. Also weigh up if you actually want/need/will use all the little extra bits they give, and if you’re really going to get your money’s worth as it’s a lot extra per person per day!
The pool area was great, plenty of sun loungers everywhere and lots of Balinese beds around which were comfortable to spend the day on if you managed to get one. Although the Balinese beds were obviously in greater demand there were always plenty of empty sun loungers around the pool. The lifeguards were hot on people leaving towels out first thing and not coming back. By around 11am they would leave a warning note on any sun loungers with towels on that hadn’t been occupied that morning and by around half 11 remove the towels so others could use the sun loungers. This ensured that the “8.30am must get my towel down on my favourite bed brigade” could still feel safe knowing no one else was going to take their prize spot, but also ensured beds weren’t taken up by people not coming back until late afternoon. The pool toilets were clean, the pool was a comfortable temperature as were the two Jacuzzies. There is a pool bar and the staff do come around and offer a waiter service at your lounger but some days there seemed lots of staff, others you didn’t see anyone most of the day.
I found the roof top infinity pool to be really nice but maybe a bit gimmicky. There are very limited sunbeds up there, with no parasols and shade available which meant it wasn’t an area you felt you wanted to stay at too long. It seemed to appeal more to the younger crowd and continental guests just from my observations. As well as steady stream of selfie takers looking for that artistic Instagram selfie.
The animation team are superb and work extremely hard to entertain you both around the pool during the day and in the evening. The entertainment is always varied with something for everyone, for example pool foam parties and beer pong for the younger guests, to 30’s themed afternoon and fashion shows for the older and lots more besides. No matter what the team did they tried to include everyone, they always made it fun and were always professional. There was even a staged marriage proposal in the dining hall one night, then a pretend wedding a pool party the next day with choreographed singing, dancing and the feeling a lot of effort, planning and practice was put into the whole routine.
The food at the hotel was superb, with a massive selection and variety available at several stations. At breakfast there was everything from fresh fruit, toast, porridge, cereals, sliced meats, fruit juices, omelettes, good old-fashioned fry up and even cava if you wanted it! It was also nice to see proper decent coffee machines dispensing nice coffee. So many other hotels I have been to serve up cheap and nasty stuff at breakfast times.
Evening meals are buffet style with fresh fish, meats and pasta dishes cooked to order. There is so much to choose from you’d have to be the world’s fussiest eater to not find some things you liked. The food was always really high quality as well, no cheap cuts or ingredients, always fresh and tasty.
The dessert station was stocked with a great selection, always ice cream available, lovely cakes and cheesecakes that were so light tasty. Most nights the chocolate fountain would make an appearance somewhere, although it didn’t seem that well used while I was there.
My only very small criticism with the food is there could do with theme nights for a bit of variety. Although the food is great, and there are tons of choice, it is for the most part, the same stuff every night. Other hotels I have stayed at will break things up a bit with a BBQ style night, Spanish night, Turkish night etc. Also, the bacon at breakfast was streaky bacon rather than back bacon and could be a little fatty at times but that’s just my personal preference. Also, you have to charge any drinks with your meal to the room (and pay off at reception). You cannot pay cash like you can at all the bars in the hotel.
Speaking of bars there are 3 in the hotel. The Bar Hall is sited right next to reception and is the place where the evening entertainment takes place (usually a band/act and disco/music later on) as well as a big screen for things like football when it on. It’s a lovely area but it gets incredibly hot in the evenings. Even with all the glass fronted doors open you hit a wall of heat as soon as you enter the building which is uncomfortable after a while.
There is a pool bar which is great for drinks around the pool all day, or somewhere shaded just to cool down a bit from the heat.
Finally, there is Café del Mar on the roof which has the feel of a higher end cocktail bar, with great views overlooking the sea and being up on the roof the best place to watch the sun set.
You can pay in cash or charge to your room in all the bars but be careful with not only prices but drink sizes. My biggest criticism is the inconsistency between all the bars. Just one example, order a coke at the pool bar and you will get a 400ml cup for €2.50. Yet order a coke at the main bar you will get 276ml (not even a can) for €2.10. Head up to the roof bar and you can expect to add another euro on to pretty much every drink. I did find drink prices (with the exception of beer) were a bit high in resort anyway, especially compared to UK prices for the amount you actually get in your glass (so shop around the bars if you go out in the evening) but I personally find it a little frustrating having to pay different prices within the same hotel for the same drinks (or indeed less of it).
The hotel is situated in the perfect position to access everything, with beaches 10 minutes walk in most directions, plenty of bars right on the doorstep, busses running past the front door, supermarket just over the road which sells a lot of things at reasonable prices, and ideal for stocking up your room fridge with provisions.
The staff are a fantastic credit to the hotel, all are really friendly, happy and cheery. Reception team go out of their way to be helpful and are always happy and smiling. The housekeeping staff always say hello as you walk past and do a great job looking after your room. (we even got a red rose on the bed on our last full day). The dining room staff are always making sure your ok, clearing plates fast, even remembering our drinks order every night and saving our table (since we are creatures of habit).
The lifeguards were always busy keeping things tidy and organised around the pool, the entertainments team always happy and enthusiastic but not at all pushy if you didn’t want to get involved. The bar staff working hard to get your drinks sorted out for you and the catering staff running around ensuring everything was always topped up and full. All the staff were fantastic and a credit to the hotel.
If I get the opportunity to go on holiday again next year, I would defiantly book to come back to the Tigotan as it is a fantastic hotel. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
