Canaves Oia Hotel

The Canaves Hotel is set in a stunning location. The hotel manager (John) and his staff offer exceptional guest service. We booked the honeymoon and river pool suites for our wedding and honeymoon stay and were very happy at the hotel. However, the events’ management appears to be separate from the management of the hotel.
A word of caution for those considering a wedding on site - we found the events’ coordinator difficult to engage with prior to our wedding and our relationship deteriorated during our stay as we were disappointed by her perceived lack of organisational skills and interest in our wedding. Please also be aware that the wedding ceremonies are held in the Canaves Suites and if you are staying in the hotel you will need to leave the hotel grounds and walk along a busy road with no pavements in your wedding outfits to reach the venue. Our hotel manager resolved this concern and arranged a room in the suites to enable us to change. He also had us escorted to the correct venue to complete the official documentation the day after our wedding.
We would not hesitate to return to the Canaves Hotel for a holiday and would highly recommend this to you for a honeymoon, if not perhaps a wedding at this time.

We visited Canaves Oia in the beginning of the season in April 2018. The hotel has breathtakingly beautiful views over the caldera! The premises were flawless and staff was simply amazing throughout our stay. Our suite had a plunge pool and we couldn’t imagine anything better than enjoying the views from our own private terrace. Would highly recommend for couples seeking for luxury getaway.

Me and my boyfriend are highly experienced travelers (especially when it comes to boutique hotels) and we rarely take the time to write reviews, but Canaves Oia certainly deserves it.

Despite the amazing location, great views and small boutique hotel treats (such as personalized cellphone charger cord organizers, sunglasses cleaning wipes and beach bag), certainly the greatest hotel feature is the impeccable customer service.

From the minute you walk in and receive your welcome sangria and a complimentary bottle of white Santorinian wine (great btw), to the small details like local tips and reservation arrangements. I made one huge, urgent and very special request as I dropped my phone in the water in a boat tour and wouldn’t return back to the port in time to get a new one at the local shop, which would mean I wouldn’t have a phone for 5 days due to my traveling schedule and locations. The AMAZING hotel manager John managed to get me a new one in time for my arrival back from the boat tour, so I can not thank and stress enough how great this hotel service is.

We can’t say enough good things about this hotel.First of all the view is breathtaking! The vibe is so relaxing,the staff is superior and always attentive.The food and drink were delishious.Our room was so cool and impeccably clean.The pool bar was the beautiful also.I will highly recommend this hotel to everyone .

Gorgeous property with amazing views of caldera. Service impeccable. Great breakfast room service included. We stayed in room 6 which was great with very few steps which was great as I had a knee issue. Located about 100 meters from pedestrian district. You do have to walk a bit on the road which is unfortunate.. infinity pool overlooking caldera beautiful. Loved customized beach bags, flip flops, hats, and cord wraps. Excellent transport to and from airport. Stayed in superior suite with plunge pool. Loved sitting in plunge pool on our balcony. Simply amazing stay and service

The room had wonderful views and the location was fantastic. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. They helped organise wonderful excursions and the staff were very attentive. The location of the hotel was brilliant as it it on the edge of the caldera and not to close to the centre of Oia, but not too far either.

The hotel is beautiful and very well located five minutes from oia, it has an exceptional attention they helped us to organize the delivery from Mikonos to Santorini of our lost suitcases without charging us anything, excellent excellent service and beautiful hotel.

Loved Canaves. The service was impeccable. So relaxing! Just a short walk into town (no heels!) and great restos nearby! Our room was perfection. Modern, clean, fresh. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful views of the caldera, with an amazing staff. We stayed in a suite which came with it's own private jacuzzi pool on a large outdoor space with beautiful views of the caldera. The room was huge and beautifully appointed. It had it's own shower room which was an amazing shower experience. Up top is a beautiful deck with plenty of very comfortable lounge chairs and a refreshing pool. Bar and food service right there with excellent service. The hotel is centrally located and the staff will make those hard to get reservations for you. The hotel is very expensive, but I must stay you should treat yourself, enjoy!!

I cant say enough nice things about our stay at the Canaves Oia Hotel! We were welcomed personally by the wonderful manager John and his lovely assistant and made to feel at home instantly. The view from this property may be one of the most spectacular sights I have ever seen. The rooms were wonderful food was delicious, plunge pool was incredible and I cant wait to come back. I will think about it everyday until I return.

Can I go back yet?? My desire to return right away is for both he hotel and it's staff as well as the location and the very special Oia. There is something so magical about Oia and Canaves just accentuates what is also magical. This hotel is VERY small and intimate. The rooms and so wonderful and the views are spectacular. The staff is absolutely amazing. The two that standout the most and you must look for are Spiros in the restaurant and John, the manager. Clearly, they love their jobs and their lives in Oia and they want you to as well without being over the top. It takes a real nuance to know how to give perfect service. It's a balance between knowing when you can be helpful to a guest, the timing, I guess. Many people there were on honeymoon, thus enjoy their time together and it was obvious the staff knew exactly when to step in. Very tactful. The manager John went out of his way for us several times from booking our ferry to Mykonos, getting our complimentary ride, trying to fix any issue in the room, dinner recommendations (that were excellent), as well as running to town himself to a jewelry store when a ring we bought broke but we had no time to go ourselves before we left to our next destination. Amazing!
The beauty from each corner of this hotel is spectacular. It is a few minutes walking distance to the Marble Walkway (Town) but steps away enough for quiet in the hotel area. By the way, the food was so good too as well as the drinks. We are picky about our hotels and food and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
